I've noticed a pretty dramatic imbalance since the upgrade, but that's because my rears are completey shagged! - will be replacing the discs with the (aesthetically matching) GMBH crossdrilled jobbies and have the calipers overhauled at the same time - apparently that's all she needs (as per the above testaments)

Another thing to consider (as I'm pretty sure it's contributing to the fiesty 'squirming' under hard braking at speed on mine) is the state of your dampers - again I'm about to upgrade to the slightly firmer Konis - but even if I were to replace with brand new OE gear I think that would eliminate the issue as, on anything high performance, almost 6 years of road use and 63k miles has got to mean they're well past their 'thrash by' date ;-)

No extra brackets IIRC, but you'd have to factor in to the price kitting it out with 19" rims - wont fit inside an 18" wheel if I'm correctly informed?

I am planning to give myself a week or two to let the newness experience settle ( and the car) then get it off to Bem Ho's shop in HK to take a look at the brakes on it, plus a general healthcheck from a specialist point of view. Satrting to save me pennies now...
Have to say i am starting to get used to the brakes not being as responsive as my old 993's :P

Yes, I've found you just...well...press harder  Mind you, takes a little getting used to if I step back into the RX8, I nearly put the missus through the windscreen the other day punching the brake - bt of a difference in response...(at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it... :bigblink:  )

iirc brackets only required if using RS6/+6 discs as they have different offset to B7 discs
That's why I remember brackets being put on my car then!
Is this definately the case then, can anyone who's done the brakes upgrade themselves confirm that there isnt anything more req'd other than the RS6 calipers,B7 discs& B7 pads....... i.e no brackets req'd to adapt to the B5 RS4 ?

You might want to invest in a set of braided hoses to replace the OEM RS4 ones as they are a bit tight (but they will suffice apparently).

Cheers Nige, is there any particular spec\type or part to get? Any recommendations where to get em from as MRC are closed for a week and my need is urgent. Did you do the RS6calipers/B7RS4 discs\pads upgrade?

You could also use the RS6 flexi hoses.

Apologies for being anal about this, but does this pick list look OK, everything I need?

Image

Also, brake pad sensors... do they connect up without any modification to the B7 pads?
