RS6 front brakes onto RS4 B5
I've just gone out and bought one - I measured 2567854678 microns!I guess no one here has a measuring tool?
Actually, I measured around 24mm, that's with new pads (less than 2k miles)

Thanks Doug!!ask the user on the forum that removed the movits and replaced with rs6 setup
Hi Ash,
I had the Movit 4 pot setup on my RS4 with 380x32 discs. The brakes can only be described as stonking. They hauled the car up from phenomenal speeds very quickly....made my eyes bleed.
But as you may have guessed there was a downside. The first set of discs lasted about 9000 miles before cracking and failing an MoT. They also suffered severe vibration.
The second set of discs lasted about 6000 miles before the inner surfaces wore out. The outer faces were perfect..the inner surfaces shot. I decided that I'd prefer the more cost effective option of the RS6+ setup compared with the regular replacement of the Movit discs and also I could get replacement pads very easily from VAG Parts, MRC or my local stealership.
For me the choice was one based on cost. If money was not considered then the Movits provide more braking power.

I just want better brakes than it has as OE (which are very unimpressive I have to say) - it would be really nice to have the movits, given they sound phenomenal, but does dsound a little excessive (although I am a low mileage driver, prob <5k pa so wouldnt be too bad)
So, the B7/rs6 setup got fitted today by Kim collins and he's finishing the st3 MTM tommorrow....
I hope the M23/M25 isn't TOO congested tommorrow afternoon
must excercise restraint....must exercise restraint.....
(actually, on that, will I have to uprate the clutch for the st3 extra horses? or not neccessarily? I know I did have to in my 1.8Tsport as it couldn't deal with the st2 torque - which cost an extra 1300 quid because it was the 5 speed box )

Nige, how did you measured it? I got those also yesterday, and the thickness is 61 mm with a new pads. (from the pad surface to the calipers top.Actually, I measured around 24mm, that's with new pads (less than 2k miles)
That it too much for my wheels, I probably have to sell them if I can't make enough space for them by removing material from here and there...
Does anyone have any idea how much could I take off from the caliper's surface without braking it?
Okkim, you could consider fitting a small 3mm spacer?
