What tyre pressure i should have for the day? i have oem wheels.
Conventional wisdom suggests a drop of a couple of pounds in pressure for the track. This will give you more grip on the corners. However, the downside is this will wear your tyres more, especially on the outer edges and this will be more extreme the more tread you have on the tyres. Ideally you want to go out on the track with really worn and nearly life expired tyres with minimal tread. Then you won't get so much wear relatively to the tread blocks.
If its wet of course scrap everything I've just said :thumb:

I thought dropping the tyre pressures was to allow for the tyres inflating themselves via increased running temperatures. This is the theory behind dropping motorbike pressures for track days anyway.....plus your not trying to avoid pot holes and drain covers so can run less pressures ;) With the tyre at a lower pressure, the tyre can move around more creating friction and heat into the tyre.

There are 2 possibly 3 B5 Rs4's & a V8 S6 coming from Scotland (trying to drum up support) to spectate at this event. A couple of questions:-

1. Do we have to pay to get in?
2. Do we get into the centre parking area of the track to watch the event (they used to let the QOC into this area)?

I have put a dit on the quattroforum about this weekend as well... looks like it clashes with the Stoneleigh Rally day but you never know, some Ur quattros may turn up to watch as well.

Norman, better make that possibly 4 RS4's, spoke to John who you met last weekend, He will let me know nearer the time. I mentioned the Hilton Hotel booking up, he says he'll sort something out:)

As Doug says I'm hopefully going to book tomorrow.

What time are the Scottish lads heading down?

I'll be leaving Edinburgh about 4pm on the Friday.

Staying at Hotel MRC :)

Be good to meet everyone and I'll be there for some of the S2 meet too.

Simon

4pm will suit fine, I'll be entering Falkirk area about then. You will be taking M8 I assume towards Glasgow, I suggest we meet up at the Hamilton Services on M74 about 4.30 on the Friday.

PS The Hilton only has about 9-10 rooms left, so I'm sure they will fill up quite quickly from now on!

Just phoned and booked my place in the intermediate level!

Spoke to Caroline and asked how many so far. She said only 12 so far so she thinks she will need to open it up to everyone.

Thanks David for organising this.

In that case I could meet you at the Stonehouse jcn which is the next one down from Hamilton. I'll know nearer the time since I could stay at my Mum's Thursday night then pick you all up at Stonehouse... so thats 4 RS4's then and John if he comes as well it will be 5 plus the S6
