Erm. OK - can you list what's in V-Power and Tesco99 then? I would reallyZeroK66 wrote:I think V-Power is as good as Tesco99 so dont think there will be any dip in power. I recon V-Power would have the edge on engine protection over Tesco due to the additives it has. V-Power is rated over 99, so certainly should do the same power.
like to be able to say the things you have just said but I don't have the data
to do so. They are both guaranteed to have a RON rating of at least 99. RON
however, isn't a particularly useful measurement. Greenergy at least also
publish their average measured MON numbers - I have never been able to
find anything from Shell about exactly what is in Optimax/V-Power. The interesting
thing about Optimax was that it was sold under the BS for Premium (EN228)
not the BS7800 SU standard. At the end of the day we, as consumers, haven't
got a clue what is in these petrols nor do we really have any idea what effect
these will genuinely have on our cars performance. As I have said before, there
are many others factors in how 'good' a petrol is other than just it's RON. The
only attempt at a qualitative comparison I can recall seeing was in Evo when
they actually got the same car on a dyno with the different fuels. IIRC, Ultimate
came out on top.......
