or in need of a polish/metalbrite?
I had to replace one of the Alu strips on my front door, yes its a bit of a pain in the ass, takes about 1hr as already mentioned. I also have a front passenger Alu trim for sale, think they cost about £35 per door from VAGparts.

I had it on mine too, my silver S4 - it's just like chrome but darker - believe it's called smoked.

As I understand it the smoked chrome is standard on the S4. Perhaps the brushed alloy that matches the brushed alloy of the RS4 mirrors was an option.

I have a full set of brushed ally window trims from an RS4 if anyone is interested. £50.
I wouldn't like to post them because of the danger in bending them.

By the way it is possible to replace the strips long the doors without drilling out the rivets that hold the rubber/plastic backing. If you are extremely careful you can seperate the ally/chrome strip from their rubber holders - without even opening the door. Takes 10 mins a door.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but is there a write up on how to remove the chrome door / window trim? Has anyone done this before? How to you "un-glue" the rear 1/4 window?

Oh ummm, my inquiry is in regards to a 2002 S4 B5
