TRIPED, as in knackered, it's a local phrase from gods country, not tripled which also results in the same thing actually.

Bad news here, sorry to hear this.
Maybe the insurance will pay for your next up grade if this is any consolation.
Hope you get some news soon.

From what I have heard it is in a state already and Yorkshire is twinned with Arizona - right?

Depends which bit of Yorkshire, I've lived in the three 'proper' counties (East Yorkshire doesn't count - cos it's really just humberside joining in) and I'd go for South Yorkshire being twinned with Arizona, West Yorkshire with Nevada and North Yorkshire with California - it's where the money's at up here.

Anyhoo - waaaaaaaaay off topic!

I can imagine the fun you'd have claiming off the insurance for something like this - "pothole caused damage to turbo's" still, be nice if you could get them to write a cheque for the damage to "doug & mihnea's 50ft yacht fund" :-P

I would like to think this, but since I was really just feathering the throttle, but, when I came to a hill obviously it had to get a little more power and suspect the turbo's started to spool, at this point I got loads of smoke.

Nothing under the car, no signs of oil, even although the engine tray is there I would have expected to see some dribbling down the edges ...

Argg, hope this garage get it on the ramp today!!!

So, the latest is he is 99% sure its a turbo ... but he does not know which side yet since he wants to take the exhaust off etc to do this ... but I don't see any point in gettin him to take the exhaust off if its gonna go down to MRC for the engine pull ...

Oh dear ... now I need to work out what turbo's to put in the car ... Does anyone know of a thread on here that talks about hybrid turbo's and the differences, ie, KO4/RS6, KO4/24, KO4-25/26 etc ???

Start one up. I think the only hybrids talked about on here have been K04/RS6

You have an awesome setup already... get tubular manifolds and RS6 tubos... be silly to go smaller! Nice 600 poinies in reach.

Look at Whiskey180... had the hubrids in for a few months, tearing them out and fitting RS6 turbos, RS4 heads etc... you have the engine for the job, you just need turbos and the manifolds.

zero, if u go for rs6 turbos u should also put in the forged con-rods too- which entails a complete engine strip and not to forget the custom downpipes with special flanges to mate with them of course then the rs4 injectors are'nt big enough etc etc

At a quick price up, its looking £8500 to go down the RS6 route or £3500 to go down the RS4 Hybrid route ...

So ... looks like it may have to be Hybrid route ... MRC recon I can get 520 with my current IC's ...
