S4TAN - the only reason I ask is because i have been thinking about the brake upgrade for a while. I think when Cliveh did his brake upgrade, he too originally had 5mm spacers on his B6 18's, and then he had to get 10mm. Clive then hcnaged his wheels for a set with ET35.

I love the look of the RS6 calipers and B7 disks, but I'm not sure if the wheels would like "right" sitting out another 5mm. Please post pics when done......
Good luck

I think i have posted on this thread once before but the B5 RS4 set up is relitivly cheep and is a good and noticeable upgrade for the S4. The difference is vast and i dont see the point in spending Thousands on brakes unless you do loads of track days or are running more than 400bhp. IMHO ofcourse.......Oh no im gonna get burned for that arnt i :FIREdevil: :bash:

 No flames from me h8cak - mine aren't costing me thousands (i couldn't do it if they were); they're 2nd handers - but Doug tells me they are in good condition and i take him at his word. I just hope they fit..... :smile_smoking: I really do need some better stopping power though, i drive like a c*nt..... :nodder:

B5 RS4 callipers, Discs and pads. To give you an idea i payed £150 for the lot. Calipers in good condition, Discs have 1 set of pads worth left on them and the pads were 40% worn. Just bought new mintex pads from ebay £31 delivered so not too bad. New discs £300 + which is a bit of a sting. They are a straight swap with the S4 brakes. Took me 45 mins to do both sides. good luck

Perfect! Thanks.

Would you say that the Mintex pads will be better than OEM, or was it simply based on price?

Price and the fact that mintex are performace pads and are possibly better than standard? Im sure that someone will either confirm or trash that remark

I would be interested to see how you get on with the Mintex. I nearly bought some then figured you get what
you pay for ;-)

I had Mintex put on a month ago. They are much better than what came off (Lucas?). But then about 25% of the friction material had disintegrated on 4 of the 8 pads! So I can't say that this is a fair comparison between Mintex and OEM.

edit: PS Mintex aren't cheap. Mine were £90 fitted inc VAT
