a bulk head full of water
a bulk head full of water
hi all, ive got a couple more for you .
first , the void under the battery and ecu is full of water , well a couple of inches anyway, so where do i look for the drain hole before i start stripping everything out?
secondly , when i unlock the car (with the fob) the hazzards flash twice but when i lock it nothing flashes at all and the led,s in the door pins dont ever flash . and the button in the drivers side centre door pillar doesnt apear to do any thing either but i dont know if this is related.i thought the hazzards were supposed to flash 3 times when you lock it.
ANY IDEAS ?

Your drain holes in the bulkhead 2 off will be clogged with all matter of <beep> take the battery out and you will see them/feel them poke them out(oo..... err) with a screwdriver or similar.
Sorry cannot help with your locking questions.

Hazards should flash on locking. could be a dodgy bonnet switch that's not allowing the alarm to arm fully. all the others can be checked by seeing if the relevent lights have gone out.

Let me know if you manage to clear the drain holes - I washed the car at the weekend and lifted the bonnet to find a pool of water that an Olympic Swimming Team would have been pleased with - it was so deep that everything was submerged. What did you have to take out - how many drain holes - and where are they??
Cheers, Iain

Iain,
The easiest drain hole to get to is the one under the battery. Take the battery out and you will see the hole throuhg a cut out in the battery tray. If you really want to clean out all the leaves and other material that's collected there take teh abttery tray out as well - it's only 1 bolt and 2 nuts.

maybe it washed it when all that soapy water fell out...
there are quite a few options with regard to alarm setting etc... in Vagcom. Worth checking there before getting to excited and ripping everything out.
