Most popular kits I've found are the H&R and Eibach ones. H&R cost about £100 more than the Eibach £200 asking price.

Has anyone had a go at fitting themselves.. preferably without owning a garage 8)

I'm thinking of having a go on my drive with two axle stands and a bag of luck... :D

Shouldn't be hard. Just make sure you lift the complete axle off the ground so as not to load the bar up at all.

Anyone know what the specs are for the Eibach bars?

I had a look at the eibach arb and i was told that they do not do a rear bar. £200 is just the front bar as eibach say that the s4 doesnt need an uprated rear bar. IMO they are wrong!!!

Yes, I can see the benefit of fitting stiffer links, just cant see the point in making the length adjustable.
We had this debate a while back I think?

The length of the drop links has no effect on the torsional loads across the arb, it only affects where the arms sit, assuming the drop links are of equal length, which they should always be, racing applications aside.

There is nothing wrong with the oem drop links, they are plastic and have a bend in for a reason! That said, I will be having a set of yours if I get a H&R 21mm arb and cannot try it on the stiff setting s4woody.

On the subject of ARB's and not really off topic, are the standard S4/RS4 arb's thicker than those fitted to the A4

I expect so Simon, the engine is heavier for one thing. I think the OEM S4 ones are 28 & 15 mm.

According to ETKA S4s 29mm and 15mm. A4s are 29 and either 15 or 12.5mm depending on whether they have sports suspension. Interestingly RS4 uses the same part numbers, optional Quattro gmbh rear AR bars of 17mm.

Cheers Kevin, interesting.

edit, sorry, hit the wrong button and submitted before I'd finished

that the lowliest A4 (a 1.6?) had the same front arb as the S4 and RS4. I doubt they would do that now.
