Some good work there lugars ...

coincidently , also got some Lemforder tie-rod ends to go on, - have you got the torque specs / pdf for the tie-rods to hand pls?
.

On another note, I can't recall.. but did you change the change the Oil Filter housing seals?

In the process.. and wondering if you (or anyone) also have the torque specs for the 4x bolts pls?

I attach pics and filter housing seals part numbers for reference..

Of the two Oil Filter housing seals, the double 'O' ring / 8 figure seal definitely feels quite hard to the touch.. and is likely the seal that eventually fails.. leading to the engine oil seeping into the valley.

Legend - big thank-you!

Although the double 'O' ring / 8 figure seal definitely feels quite hardish to the touch.. I wouldn't think it'd be an issue for a few years.. (generally seen as an potential issue on higher mileage examples)

So, on low mileage examples (i think like yours) even mine's at 77k - typically I wouldn't worry..

I just decided to do it coz I'm irrational, pedantic and in dire need of some Psychotherapy.

I think we are in the same boat here, the more we find the more we want to "fix".
I do this with a lot of my projects. And i like the restoration feeling, back to new if possible in all cases.

Had the pleasure of getting her back on the road yesterday for first test drive.

Feels great! Power is hugely improved, must have close to that 60hp back i had lost over the years! Its impressive!

Injectors looking great on VCDS, adaption values are 0.2% and 0.7% across two ECUs
Performed throttle body alignment with VCDS.

Just waiting on Endless pads to arrive then new disc will go on.

It was worth the effort!
MOT today 8)

Great news to hear your RS is back on road - hope it passed the MOT ok?

Still haven't got around to ordering the Discs & Pads all-around yet (as no time to fit currently) .. :boohoo:

Anyway, interested to hear about the Injectors values from a fellow VCDS owner! Could you post bit more info?

I managed to have a quick play on my mates RS4 B7, few weeks back to check whether it was pulling timing - ie. timing is off:

I was pleasantly surprised (as I'm sure he was) the RS was running pretty much bang-on..

with particular reference to Group 093 MBV's (Measuring Block Values) and the Phase Position (which I understand advise what the offsets and tensioners are doing)

and .. in my haste - forgot to check the other Bank / ECU

Anyway, out of curiosity, did you perform any of the Output Test cycles, prior to firing up? ie. like Power Flap / Manifold Flap tests?

didn't get a chance to check what VCDS Output Test cycles are present for our RS4..

Interesting, not looked at 093 before, will do some reseach and take the measurement.

So yes, i did all the output tests, air box flap, inlet flaps, engine mount (replaced), fans (1x replaced) etc. Very handy to know before hitting the road.

Car is much quicker now, need to get it back on a rolling road, feels great.

Just chasing down a front end knocking, its either steering rack or shocks, im thinking shocks, its strange, with the engine off if i wiggle the steering wheel i hear the rack knock, with engine on it doesnt, obviouly the power sterring negates it, but i wonder if its normal?

Im keen to test the DRC next, getting pressure test and charging tools together for that now.

Passed MOT !
Endless pads are still in Japan, (hope they are worth the wait!)

..does it ever end? :boohoo:

so, just finished tackling the quite common front-end corrosion on the lock carrier / mounting for radiators:

After applying some Hammerite Kurust, it was onto to spraying in Matt Black.. (whilst be careful to prevent any over-spray)
