Rear brake discs and pads, fitting?
Hi guys done lots of searches but not really getting why I want on this. Has anyone ever done a rear disc and pad fitting guide as mine need doing and I'm not paying a garage/stealer to do it if it's pretty straight forward. I've done other cars before now but would just like a little guide if possible and is there any special tools or fitting kits needed? If you know of a link that would be great help! Cheers Sean.

You need an VAG tool to wind the pistons back into the calipers I understand.

Halfords do a LASER brand caliper rewind tool, that is all you need by way of specialist tools. It's quite straightforward.
Don't press the brake when the rear caliper is removed.

Not sure if the RS6 has left and right handed pistons so you might get away with a cheap one.

I did mine about three weeks ago and yes it is very much straight forward.
But I do have a toolset like in Bilko1's link. Make sure you check your brake fluid level before you start pushing back the piston.
My fluid was filled up while the pads were half worn, so I spilled some unfortunately.

http://www.yellowdogracing.com/Audibrakes.htm might be some help.......use at your own risk (!!), I havent tried it, but looks pretty straightforward as long as you have the 'special' tool, others above have said where you can get this - draper etc.seanypeeps wrote:Hi guys done lots of searches but not really getting why I want on this.
