Forge DV
Forge DV
As some of you may know, my day at Donnington yesterday was troubled by intermittent/lack of boost. There were a couple of reasons for this, the first being a split vacuum pipe (the braided one) and the second the Forge diverters.
It appears that I was running the earlier version of the diverters. The only way to tell is to take the diverter apart and check for a seal around the top of the thread (I wish I had taken pictures!!). The new valves have three seals, two for the piston, and one for the case itself; the 'old' ones have two seals for the piston, and no seal for the case.
The second problem was the spring inside the diverter. There are three types of spring - green, yellow, and red - Green is the weakest and red the strongest. I was running green springs.
The end result was that I drove straight to Revo and they swapped my 'old' DVs for the new ones which I fitted in combination with the red springs. I now have a set of each of the springs as the choice of spring is down to the driver, and I can change them if I am not happy.
The car is performing much better now.

Re: Forge DV
AmD suggested that i do not fit the red springs as the boost being held for too long could split a hose
Which BTW is what happened yesterday to me anyway
And thanks to Wayside Audi who repaired it on the way home

Can't beat a bit of boost!

I thought you said you were running the yellow springs .
Was it the braided hose? What about the error code?

I must have not pressed the post button or something

Re: Forge DV
So now I am I hear there are four types of spring. Weakest to strongest, here they are:
Green
Yellow
Blue
Red
I'm led to believe that the red ones will cope with up to around 2 bar.
