Wheel Caliper problem!!

Post by RED_ROCKET » Sat May 13, 2006 12:07 am

Just instaled B7 disc and Calipers.

Problem: Wheels hitting calipers.

Resolve: Already got 10mm spacers. May go for 15mm sapcers but rims will hit the arches.

Anyone here with advise.

Using 9.5 x 19 BBS LMs 32 offset (bigdish)

Advice. :?

I drive 20mm spacers with 19 inch et 32 and I got 1.5 cm to the rs6/new rs4 calipers and the wheels are just a hairs braid from touching my arches .... so i guess 9.5 is a bit too wide ...sorry
Never enough...

Please let me know if this set of B7 brakes makes a lot of difference?

I still have a lot of wear on my original discs and pads and am now thinking if it is worth replacing them now or is it better to wait until my original ones wear out...

I have tried these wheels with 12mm spacers and they do not fit over the movit calipers

Looks like 15mm spacers might be enough and by the sounds of it the arches will need to be rolled.

Only other option is to machine the inside of the rim down by 3mm. I won't be doing this.

Cheers

Dont recommend if you have BBS LMs...

Can you not change the front wheels to same style but different offset?

Running AP brakes with 19" MTM wheels, use 20mm spacers on the front and 10mm on the rear... no issues with anything hitting.......As AP were designed to fit under 18" wheels there should be no issues

I tried the B7 brakes on Brooner's B5. I am not exaggerating when I say the difference is quite frankly UNBELIEVABLE and that was with his set up still needing to be bleed correctly.

I have my set waiting to be fitted when I get a spare moment.

I don’t know what offset, but they are 18" BBS LM, first I ordered 19" but then the waiting time for the order was too long and I decided that 18", considering our horrible roads in Moscow will be ok too :)
