Audi A4 S4 RS4 Radio CD Player Concert II

Post by MarkB » Mon Dec 03, 2007 10:46 am

Would this plug straight in on my S4?

I've currently got a Concert with Bose. I don't ever play tapes so a dash mount CD could be good. I'd want it to still display correctly on the DIS.

Thanks
Mark

thought 8E0 might be from a B6 model then i found this

http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/audi/radios/

so it looks like a standard fit A4 radio/CD, would have thought it'd work, it says it'll communicate with the DIS

The faceplate on an 8D0 radio for a B5 is a different size and shape to the faceplate on an 8E0 radio - so an 8E0 (B6/B7) radio won't fit your 8D0 (B5) without modification.

I think it is from a B6 yes. I have just thought that the faceplate colour might not be right also

Was there any single DIN dash mount CD players fitted in the B5's?

If yes would they be free of the Concert volume control problem?

Can you not get a OEM 6 cd stacker for the boot?

I have cd stacker already. I'd just like to get rid of the dash tape player.

I think from memory there are certain issues with CAN on earlier models where-by the unit needs some additional cat 5 wiring and setting up.
Check with craigyb for more info.

Early B5s with the analogue dash clock don't have an infotainment CAN bus, so if you retrofit a later Audi radio that needs CAN you have to fit a CAN emulator.

My Car is a later facefilt with the digi clock so should I be able to fit later headunits? Obviously I'll need to make it physically fit the dash.
