Continuing problems

Post by derdle » Wed Nov 15, 2006 4:52 pm

Hi all,

Colleague here at work has an A3 1.8T and teh EPC light has come, VAGCOM gives the following fault codes:

3 Faults Found:

17536 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean
P1128 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)
P1297 - 35-00 - -

17584 - Bank1: O2 (Lambda) Correction Behind Catalyst: Control Limit Reached
P1176 - 35-00 - -

The 17705 pressure drop has appeared before and various hoses have been changed, plus the DV changed and the throttle body cleaned.

Does anyone have any clues?

I've recommended that he take it to a specialist (probably MRC being the closest) but he doesn't fancy a day out of the office.

Many thanks!

This page might be helpful:

I would certainly test the MAF in the manner described there.

Many thnaks for that. I've passed the info on to my colleague but I think he is too tight to have the car looked at properly. False economy in my mind, but hey ho...it takes all sorts.

Once again, thanks.
