S3 OEM Brake Pads

Post by Riz_RS4 » Mon Nov 03, 2003 11:05 pm

Is there a visual way of checking how much grip i have left on my pads..... the block itself has about 1.5cm thinkness.... does it wear all the way down or am i near to replacement time?

Cheers

Theres 2 wires that are embedded into the pad, once this has been worn through you'll get an error come up on the DIS. Then its pad change time.

When ulook at the pad u can see the bit that does the braking and the and the metal that it is bonded to which is obviously a bit bigger. If ur pad is getting pretty near to the metal plate then expect ur brake warning lite to come on at anytime. Even with the brake light on u still have some life left in the pads so its not 'oh [censored] ive got no brakes' time just yet.
Do u follow that Riz ?
