Whilst appreciating its a first world problem, I too took delivery of my RS4 late March and have spent more time looking at it than driving it  The 100 or so miles I’ve managed however, have been enough to confirm the RS models are indeed a significant step up in driving dynamics.

I came from a B9 272 SLine which I really enjoyed, especially the storming torque, but it didn’t have that specialness which makes you take it for a spin just for the sake of it. I settled on buying a new facelift s4 and had ordered one, but being of a certain age, I realised if I didn’t get a RS now I probably never would. I ummm’ed and ahhh’ed for a week watching and reading all the articles I could find trying to justify the extra £20k, but in the end the Mrs said “you only live once, get what you want”... enough said and I switched to an RS4.

Given it was a bit of a stretch, I wasn’t going to be in the carbon black or vorsprung league, or ticking many of the options and therefore appreciated the reasonably good base spec. In the end I went for Daytona grey, 20” flag alloys, comfort / sound pack and the storage pack. From the limited driving I’ve been able to do, I’m absolutely loving the drive, i’ve Not been this excited about a car since I bought a Sierra Cosworth over 30 years ago... and that had 201bhp!

The only things I don’t like are the aluminium interior trim (much preferred the piano black I had in my previous B9) and the chrome exterior trims. I’ll be getting the exterior bits wrapped at some point, would love the carbon interior trims but they’re a bit too expensive.

I also didn’t realise how dirty cars get when parked up for a while, but enjoyed washing it non the less :biggrin3:

Looks great. I’m not a lover of aluminium trim but on a Daytona car I think it goes nicely.
You could have moved the Karcher out of the way when you took the pic though 😂!!

Nice cars - I did get an excellent deal so happy to sit out for now, the spec was white with comfort and sound, storage pack and driver assistance tour. I am not that fond of the aluminium trim inside but the cost of upgrade wasn’t worth it for me.

All interesting reading,
Best of luck with the wait for those who have just ordered, you will love it when it lands - Cracking cars & hopefully they will be here for the summer.

Hi Nastro - Back to your tracker - With a Cobra Trak Tracker I always kept the fob in the house then took it out with me not attached to the car - if the car got stolen with the tracker in it you would not get a notification that it had gone until you noticed. if someone stole your car with the tracker fob in the house after say 20 seconds the Cobra would be notified & on the phone -
Thats how I have always understood the 2 part tracker- I have had this system several times on Porsche Cars & RS4's previously. just my view hope that is ok.

I took GAP insurance out with ALA for around 399.00 & my insurance was around £550 with Admiral Good price I thought. Agreed Nastro after putting my Wife on the Policy the insurance came down !! - She never drives It !!!!

Morning Rossi - Your Daytona RS4 looks stunning,
Any RS4 what ever spec is a stunning piece of kit - to be honest they all drive virtually the same what every the spec - those extra bits &* bobs and a nicety & make it a Personel choice.

I think Wrapping the exterior Ally in black it will look stunning - I have seen the interior ally also wrapped in Piano or Carbon which is much cheaper than the trim upgrade.

:D I picked up my RS4 on 3RD March -

I specced -

Carbon Black which had a few good options & Styling.
Navarra Blue
Pano Roof
Comfort & Sound Pack.
Sports Exhaust.
Red Callipers
4TH Year Warranty

I think the car cost me £69K OTR which I was very please with.

I was looking at 18 plate good spec used ones but they were early 50's & Sport Editions which were late 50's

I took a view the face lift with what spec I wanted with no previous owners was the best for me. Loving it and now at 850 miles -- The Local Shop seems miles away LOL. :)

Hi RS4spark, I paid around the same based on a similar analogy. I could get a car with 500 miles on or less, B9 version but not to specification I really wanted. The extra £10k got me a brand new factory order to my spec plus the Matrix Headlights, reversing camera, wireless phone charger, heated front seats, privacy glass, folding and dipping door mirrors, a more economical engine all included in the spec ( options on the B9) . So a better deal I thought.

Hi Spark,
Yes, I only take the tracker fob out when I’m in the car.
It’s on the car key ring. I don’t leave it in the car so hopefully I’m doing the right thing.
Jubilee and Spark, wow 10% off? That’s amazing. I went in with a 2.5% off offer that I’d got from Carwow. On reflection the salesman was very quick to agree to that!
I did get a better offer come through at around 5% but I’d ordered by then.
As I said before though, the best price I’ve seen (for a stock car) was just under 75K which was about 7.5% off.
Well done the two of you!

Thanks Nastro, I have lost loads on previous cars so hopefully this good discount will ease the pain a bit later on down the road.
Great cars & I have never added a 4TH year warranty - I fully intend to keep it 2-3 years then sell on with a good factory warranty period left --- thats the plan anyway..

Im off out to give it another wash now -- it will be Nardo Grey soon !!!!

Hi RS4spark, looking good!
I Machine polished with some metal polishing paste then finished off by hand polishing, to get that mirror finish.
Looks great from behind! Plus the dirt and water just bead off, so it stays looking good!
Should come from the factory like this when you pay an extra £1250!

Has anyone experienced interior wrapping, I’ve read it can fade due to uv exposure and lift over time so I’d consigned that idea to the bin. Is there any difference in the materials used inside or out, most people say external wrapping lasts well but it’s clearly in a harsher environment out there?
I think the carbon trim looks awesome but can’t justify £2k for good quantity aftermarket parts... and daren’t ask what the OEM parts cost :o

The ally trim looks OK in the picture but it’s the only feature I’m close to hating
