I came from a B9 272 SLine which I really enjoyed, especially the storming torque, but it didn’t have that specialness which makes you take it for a spin just for the sake of it. I settled on buying a new facelift s4 and had ordered one, but being of a certain age, I realised if I didn’t get a RS now I probably never would. I ummm’ed and ahhh’ed for a week watching and reading all the articles I could find trying to justify the extra £20k, but in the end the Mrs said “you only live once, get what you want”... enough said and I switched to an RS4.
Given it was a bit of a stretch, I wasn’t going to be in the carbon black or vorsprung league, or ticking many of the options and therefore appreciated the reasonably good base spec. In the end I went for Daytona grey, 20” flag alloys, comfort / sound pack and the storage pack. From the limited driving I’ve been able to do, I’m absolutely loving the drive, i’ve Not been this excited about a car since I bought a Sierra Cosworth over 30 years ago... and that had 201bhp!
The only things I don’t like are the aluminium interior trim (much preferred the piano black I had in my previous B9) and the chrome exterior trims. I’ll be getting the exterior bits wrapped at some point, would love the carbon interior trims but they’re a bit too expensive.
I also didn’t realise how dirty cars get when parked up for a while, but enjoyed washing it non the less
