S4 Upgrading

Dippy,

I would think its turbo lag, as the acceleration is progressive and then you get the turbo whoosh. Probably down to the fact that i'm on full throttle after a change up.

I'll try the gradual increase of pedel pressure and see if the power comes in around the 3000-4000rpm range.

Also consider if you have DV problems: If you change gear they will open, and if they don't close quickly enough then you will get hesitation.

Any with a solid piston. IMO the risk of diaphragm tear means the Bosch is out.

I think that the Forge, Hyperboost, Viper and Bailey valves are all good. Although I question if the Bailey and Hyperboost valves are a good fit or not: Space for the DVs on the biturbo is limited.

I know everyone has mentioned that they like the Porsche brakes. I presume that Porsche/Mov'it are one in the same. What size do people recommend? Is it 322x32mm?
Has anyone any views about the Stop-Tech brakes? Which size is best fitted? 332mm x 32mm or 355mm x 32mm? [img]images/graemlins/audiS4black.gif[/img]

Fantastic post guys & loads of info. I recently bought my S4 & as I live in Bicester got AMD to remap & shortshift the car. I have just bought an RS4 suspension kit plus a pair of Hybrid KO4 Turbos that have been gas flowed.

Anyone got any thoughts? Will the RS4 suspension be OK when the S4 is producing in excess of 425BHP???

The RS4 suspension will be fine unless you plan on attending lots of track days. I would also consider getting a stiffer rear anti-roll bar as you will experience understeer in fast corners. AFAIK, K04's on an S4 without the full RS4 treatment (injectors, airbox, MAF etc..) will only give you around 400-410bhp, as the std S4 injectors are maxed out [img]images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]. Did you get a quote from AMD to fit the turbos [img]images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] ??

Hi Nige & yes, curremtly in negotiations with Jon & Scott down there. I live in Bicester which makes things easier (also makes spending money there easier too!!)

Btw your sig suggests torque of 409 ft/lbs, if that is correct you have more torque than a Sportec RS460 [img]images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]

I will check the RR printout, it was either 402 0r 409 but I was sure it was 409. I was surprised when I saw the report.

Im haggling with them on labour charges to install some Hybrid KO4s I have an option on!

How long have you had the RS4?
Was the Sportec kit put on straight away?

Sorry for all the questions, just thought the car was incredible!

I would check the printout carefully mate, to give you an idea Jeff's AmD RR figures show 326bhp/365ftlbs torque which is about right IMHO. You seem to have less bhp and bags more torque, just doesn't add up I'm afraid [img]images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Hi Andy. I just dug out my RR printouts.
278BHP before - 323BHP after.
315lb before - 402lb after.

I need to amend my signature!!!

Does this really look odd? I have met a couple of people who have similar torque stats.

What is the Sportec 460 stats? (Maybe a dumb question?)
