The part of the carbon issue which is down to excess oil vapour they could, and should, do something about i.e. design a proper oil separator that works!chrissyr32 wrote:Surely with all this talk about our engines not producing 414 and the carbon build up issues, Audi must have developed/modified this engine to produce the claimed 450bhp and done something about the carbon issues???
Some coking and loss of performance has always happened with IC engines and almost certainly always will. Can you think of a 3 year old car that meets it's original power figures without needing a complete engine rebuild? - I can't.
450bhp from an high revving NA engine is entirely possible with no need for turbos - it's only 107bhp/litre after all.chrissyr32 wrote:If they are aware of our issues or are their heads buried in the sand..
Surely the only way to truely produce 450 as claimed, apart from the rumoured twin throttle bodies is TURBOS![]()
IMHO the real question is WHEN does the 450bhp get developed? On a just run-in engine that has not yet coked up? Probably.
When do the manufacturers claimed figures have to be met?
- brand new?
- just run-in?
- after x thousand miles?
- after x months?
- for ever?
