Any particular technique to pulling out the grilles?RS4414. wrote:The honeycomb grills just pull out with a good tug...very easy..clean out...then they just clip back on...simples!!

I use the old...."as many fingers "hooked" into the grill and just pull technique" if that makes sense!! lol..
Seriously just get your fingers into the grilles and pull...the plastic is quite flexible so dont worry about breaking anything.
To replace them you need to clip them around the foglight first then push the other side in...ensuring the clips snap into place...
Me being quite anal about cleaning my car it gives me an excuse to wash the grilles, treat them..and also wash the paintwork around the grilles you cant normally clean...

Sad i know!!!!

To supplement RS4414's excellent advice, here is a pic of the nearside grille, you can see the 3 tabs which you need to hook your finger around and release as RS4414 stated. I found it best to the inner first with my right hand index finger, then keep the pressure on pulling grille away from car and undo the next 2 tabs then pivot away from the foglight and pull towards the middle of the car to release.

Here is a pic of the debris in my offside orifice, the nearside one wasn't as bad curiously

Thanks for your concern
realised that was in pic too late. A B6 S4 was responsible for doing that, scraped a layer of skin off fitting a big battery in the scuttle at the middle of windscreen base, there's not much room and battery very heavy. Glad mines in the boot!
I feel stupid having done it doing that, a poxy plastic grille is no match!
