The difference is the directionals have a 'V' shaped tread pattern (with the point at the front as you look down on a forward facing wheel), the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetricos (as the name suggests) have asymmetrical tread - i.e. they have straight edged tread patterns on them.
If you look at the tread patterns on the tyres I posted the links to before in this thread you will be able to see this clearly (compare the Toyo T1Rs to the Goodtear Asymmetricos for example).
Whether you should not fit the asymmetricos to the RS2.....that's another question, have you asked this to another tyre centre? Did they say the same? Sometimes it's just someones opinion and not always fact.....let me know
