Okay guys, shoot me down. Filled up with my second tank at the weekend and got 40mpg on a 20 mile trip.
I did give it some later in the day and it really does make a difference, though may be the cold weather. Still not quite V-Power though

The power comes from the calorific value of the petrol (how much energy is liberated from it) and how fast it burns.
The RON rating gives an indication of the resistance of the petrol to pre-ignition. Higher RON means you should be
able to run more timing advance. You want a petrol which gives out a lot of energy, burns fast and completely and
has a high resistance to pre-ignition. I haven't a clue which brand is best!
The 5th gear guy reminds me too much of Burt from Sesame Street for me to take him seriously....
