Did the same with my C7, I have done 30k miles and apart from some niggly electrical problems, and a turbo issue, the engine itself runs sweet.
So, just start playing from day 1

agreed..and I'm picking mine up tomorrow.Paulm wrote:Loads of articles on this. Years ago they did testing on a new CBR900 blade. Easy run in and nailed from the start. nailed from the start made more power and used less oil
my car was nailed from the word go.
I run my karts in, in much the same way. Easy 1st lap of the track then nail it. I see loads of others doing 10 to 15 laps gradually upping the speed. Too last damage is done. My engines are always very strong.

not happy with the brakes in mine. Drove my daughters corsa the other day and just about put the passengers through the windscreenZeebuilder wrote:If the RS6 engine is anything like the R8 which I expect it would be in terms of performance/tolerances then it's run in on a test bed in the factory hence the reason there no oil service needed after 1000 miles. The run in period really is about the brakes. On my second set of discs I had a proper blast within 50 mile of getting them fitted. Major brake fade and low and behold brake shudder 3 weeks later. Another set replaced by Audi!!!
But were they any better when you needed them in gently ie your 1st set? Have you followed the proper bedding in procedure?Zeebuilder wrote:If the RS6 engine is anything like the R8 which I expect it would be in terms of performance/tolerances then it's run in on a test bed in the factory hence the reason there no oil service needed after 1000 miles. I found my C6 RS6 brakes pretty good even with around 700BHPIanH755 wrote:Plus it's a 2 ton car you're stopping
I also didn't think the OEM setup was adequate (C6) so swapped to AP Racing Discs (same size as stock), Ferodo DS2500 pads and ATE super Blue Fluid and the brakes are fantastic for a stage 2 car but I found that the pads need either a monthly 30min proper B-Road blast or, alternatively, a quick re-bedding every month to maintain the best performance.
Corsa is far from crap. I bought it new for her, the car and spec for the price is very very good. Loaded with toys and safe I really like it.MikeFish wrote:It's called progressive braking.![]()
Corsas and other crap cars are over assissted in my opinion and it gives the impression of good brakes. They are not good brakes they are just overly sensitive and go from being off to on, there's nothing inbetween (exaggeration).
Not saying that the brakes are crap on a corsa (if it stops it worksMikeFish wrote:It's called progressive braking.![]()

We had the car stolen from our house 3 weeks old. Recovered pretty much brand new with exception to the front brakes. Discs dicoloured and pads were white. Insurance replaced them. Insurance replaced them. After I got it back I didn't follow any bedding in and pretty much hammered it one Sunday afternoon. Few days later brake shudder. Replaced again under warranty. Now they just squeak! Lol very good at stopping the beast but seem to have a few problems on here.MikeFish wrote:But were they any better when you needed them in gently ie your 1st set?
