Replacement CD changer
Replacement CD changer
Could anyone provide the correct part number for the CD changer in the boot of my 2003 RS6 C5? I'm wondering if I could replace it with a standard A6 unit from the same year? "Who uses CD's these days" I hear you all say and I agree but I'm trying to keep my car as factory standard as possible so this is important to me.
Re: Replacement CD changer
I think the part number is 4b0 057 111A.
I am pretty sure that any changer that works with a RNS-D or E will work.

Thank you Shoppinit. Much obliged.
Re: Replacement CD changer
Found this one from an S6 C5. Not quite the same part number but close. Any thoughts as to whether this might be a match?

Re: Replacement CD changer
Yeah, that's odd. I can't find that reference in the parts catalogue for either the RS6 or the S6. This site seems to imply that they are equivalent parts:
https://wolfautoparts.com/6-disc-cd-cha ... s3822.html
This one, too:
https://www.1factoryradio.com/products/ ... 4e0035111a
I wonder if the part supplied with the car is the 035 and the aftermarket part number is the 057. Dunno.
/Anyway, it's sold so either it's too late or you bought it and can tell us if it works.

Re: Replacement CD changer
In ETKA the info for the exchange part (4B0 057 111AX - X for exchange) says that either 4B0 035 111A or 4B0 057 111A is acceptable in exchange. That's as close as finding solid info that they are equivalent as I can get.

Showing as sold - did you buy it? If not, one of my Audi buddies has four C5 A6 allroads in his yard, he probably has one!S3ADF wrote: ↑Fri Aug 29, 2025 1:49 pmFound this one from an S6 C5. Not quite the same part number but close. Any thoughts as to whether this might be a match?

Thanks for all the feedback. Yes, I did buy it. Worth a punt for £50 delivered to the door I think (hope!). I won't be getting it fitted for a little while (need technical assistance!) but will let you know the outcome in due course. Once again this goes to prove the value of this forum to us diehard owners
