B7 RS4 wanted

Post by N9ATH » Sat Aug 16, 2025 8:51 pm

Hi guys still on the hunt for a B7 RS4 (Avant preferred)

Between 20-40k miles.

If anyone has a lovely example drop me a message!

Seen a good few posts of late of a few people after the same so I know it’s fairly uncommon especially with this mileage.

Put a post up some time ago but thought I’d drop another one in as I didn’t specify it in this part of the forums!

Well aware of the potential drawbacks and people’s opinions on low mileage etc but just my preference. Have done lots of extensive research so I’ve got a good idea of what I’m after but always open to some honest and friendly advice.

Thanks:)

Slightly on the higher end of your mileage preference but there is a very rare (factory Purple) Avant on Autotrader atm. Listed last week and on just over 40k miles from memory. May be of interest to you if you haven't seen it already. There's also a black one on there with a rare interior option on around 50k miles I think. Again, may be a little high but gives you some idea of price/condition perhaps.

Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve seen the 50k mile example and although it’s definitely something I personally haven’t seen before the colour isn’t to my taste plus no carbon trim & the mounted telephone holder also isn’t something i like the look of (fussy I know) but it’s nice to see it’s had some major works done, someone will get a good car there at a reasonable price with the money spent on it from what the description states.

Just took a look at the Purple avant and wow that is rare, personally haven’t seen one in that colour. The off putting part on that one is not MOT since 2017 and in the description “needs to be recommissioned as a project” doesn’t fill me with much confidence 😂 took a look at the history on the MOT’s also and there’s a fair bit I can imagine will need addressing right away. At least the seller is saying it how it is😂

I’ve took a look into the JDM market also, some really clean, rare colour options available down that avenue but I have little to no expertise in the processes you’d need to go down that route. I do know it’s not cheap to get one here here and then having to address the obvious… KMph to MPH & coding other obvious bits. Generally seen as great examples from other forums I’ve read into but as I say I’m not clued up enough on that front and buying from another part of the world 😳

Yeah, I mean, with regards to the Purple one - it is the perfect example of what is often the case with these low mile cars - off the road / neglected for a number of years, hence buying into a massive risk ... and paying a premium for the privilege! It's a poor advert in my opinion (what does it say about the owner if they can't even be bothered to wash the car before listing it) and it's overpriced given the lack of info. Cool colour though.

FYI on the telephone holder don't let that put you off going forwards if you find a car that's otherwise perfect. From memory the OE holders are still available and/or generic A4 ones fit so it's not the end of the world.

JDM - you're right, lots of nice examples, rare colours/specs and often in good condition because of the climate/lack of road salt. Some company's are making a business importing and then selling them on, company on eBay currently selling a blue avant super low miles and an imola yellow one, both LHD. I too don't know much about how you would go about doing it and what sort of hidden fees are involved, but something worth looking into.

Will keep my eyes peeled for you and post here if I find anything!

I couldn’t agree more! Yeah I mean the first photo of the car filthy is quite something… first time for everything 😂 maybe if that’s how it’s been stored paired with its history available to view online says all you need to know…

Thanks for the heads up regarding the phone holder, done a little bit of digging myself and I gained similar knowledge to what you have stated which again I appreciate bud, nice to know people on this forum are of great help😎

I’ve seen the LHD imports which naturally wouldn’t be my choice for obvious reasons! I had a little look on a few well regarded Japanese car auction/dealership pages and the best two I found (from the same dealer) was a ibis white avant at 39k miles, full interior spec you’d expect to see, white trims/white backs to the wingbacks which look lovely! Has the sunroof and some other nice bits but it’s hard to fully determine the spec list on those sites. Priced at 37k GBP.

Also a Imola yellow 22k miles but that has a less desirable spec interior wise but still looks great! Priced at 41k GBP.
I done some research and along with the obvious fees of dealers/transport fees you’d be looking at 20% VAT on top so the price you’d end up paying would be considerably higher than advertised.

Not sure if you have also noticed a Daytona saloon on 17k miles one owner that’s been on autotrader for months now. Doesn’t have the wingbacks and priced at 40k so can see why it might be but surprised nobody has bought that as a collector perhaps Lowest like B7 I’ve seen in a long long time. Personally wouldn’t myself but very surprised to see such a low owner/mile B7 stay up for sale for that long.

Thanks for also keeping an eye out for me, appreciated!

No worries :)

Do you have a link to the Imola one, I'd be curious to see one on that low miles in such a rare colour. Huge money though, £41k + 20% is madness really.

Yeah the 17k Daytona Saloon has been for sale for at least a year, I want to say closer to 2 years actually. Hasn't dropped in price once!

Here’s the link to the Imola one, I’ll add the ibis white too underneath for others who may come across this thread:)

Imola yellow graded 4
Ibis white graded higher at 4.5

Crazy that’s it’s been up that long to be honest without any interest or like you say the price coming down. Actually looks like a really clean car too and I’ve always liked the quirky “coolbox” in the glovebox extra some B7s came with like that one, can imagine it’s pretty pointless though and something else to fix when it goes wrong😂. From a dealer I’d assume you’d have some sort of warranty/reassurance to accompany if any unwanted problems arise due to the likelihood of it sitting for some years.. surprised nobody has took a punt as there’s been a few people recently in this area of the forums looking for super low miles. 40k is seriously top money though and ofc no wingbacks too🤔

Crazy, I wasn't even aware of sites like this. I'm a big fan of Imola but I have to say, there's something extra special about the White 'final edition' ones. The Alcantara wheel and shifter, titanium mirrors, buckets. It just looks awesome.

Some seem really reasonable like this Avus Saloon on 7.5k miles for £34k?! - https://www.japanesecartrade.com/120752 ... -2007.html
Probably the worst colour IMO in Avus but still, that's super super low miles. I suppose though with VAT and no doubt other hidden fees it quickly becomes £40k+

Despite the prices of B7's being a bit lower in recent years, 2014-2019 was the time to buy one. I spent some time looking back at for sale threads on here during that era and people were absolutely giving them away. Rare colours and specs, 30-50k miles for often under £20k.

Yeah these sites are great! And couldn’t agree more more in regards to the ibis white mate they simply are stunning, one of my favourites along with Mugello blue and between the two I put in my previous post I’d opt for the ibis over the Imola for multiple reasons. The price seems pretty fair for both without including the added fees etc but then again these cars are worth as much as someone is willing to pay these days with them getting increasingly rare in good nick.

You’re right about that time also, as I’ve been naturally looking I had a good read into previous posts over the years and shame I wasn’t in the position at that time to buy 😩

Yeah I also saw that Avus, seriously low miles for that price and comparing it with similar saloon variants I’ve seen advertised in the UK it seems solid value. Then again I also wouldn’t know how a jap import would fair if you was to ever resell in the future in the UK. Guessing it could potentially put people off but if all the relevant changes were made in regards to dials, infotainment systems I can’t see it being that much of a put off personally! With the stricter laws over Japan the cars as you mentioned previously also tend to be in far better shape compared to UK equivalent. Get the undersides sealed as I believe they didn’t do that due to the lack of road salt over there and you could have a cracker especially these rare variants.
