Multiple Faults on Dash - Help

Post by RS04SBS » Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:13 pm

Hi all,

Hoping some fellow members may be able to shine a light. Joining a motorway last week, upon accelerating, around 75mph. The dash illuminated with multiple alarms, instantly causing a rough running of the engine. Didn’t go into limp mode, but once I pulled over ran very lumpy at idle. Almost felt like it was on 2 cylinders. As seconds went by more and more alarms began to appear.

“Auto / Start stop”
“TPS”
“Drive Select”
“Audi pre sense restricted”
“Drive system Fault”
“Stabilization Control Fault”

To name a few. It’s been in the garage 3 days. Charging is good from alternator. Battery is good. Plugs were changed 500 miles prior. Various faults appear when plugged in, which don’t seem to correlate to each other. A contact at main dealer said they would instantly change Coil packs, which I’m going to try first. If that doesn’t do it I’m leaning toward a wiring fault. Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

41k miles on the clock,

Any help or insight greatly appreciated!

Sam

I'm thinking there is a fault on one of the CANBUS systems, without looking at the schematics to check the faults against various modules.
My 2018 has three, as well as LIN, MOST and Flexray! You don't say how old your car is so you may have more.
So either there is a communication problem between modules or a faulty module that isn't being seen by the other modules and as a result the system can't function correctly.
Either way you need an Audi specialist (probably not a dealership).
