CCM repairs
Does anyone know where we can get our Comfort Control Modules repaired.
Been having won’t safe and won’t desafe issues with my central locking on all four doors. Replaced all locks but still had the same errors.
Then had to replace the original CCM due to a blocked AC drain.
Now I only get won’t desafe errors on the rear doors.
The red door open warning light has stopped working on the rear offside door. Also cannot unlock door error message.
Bulb is ok. But no power to bulb.
So I am thinking that the replacement CCM also has a fault.

Re: CCM repairs
Steve, did you use genuine door locks? I know the micro switches dont last long on the cheap ones. To be honest the genuine ones only lasted 3 years on mine until the micro switches played up again.
Avus Avant, RNS-E mk2 with sds and Bluetooth, Milltek, Hotchkis, Bilstein, Forge, ITG, A.C.E, Wagner, FBMFSW, MTM.

Hi Paul
Yes mate genuine door locks.
Micro switches are ok.
With the old CCM. Faults logged on all 4 doors. Then air con drain caused soaking carpets
So dried the carpets off.
Replaced CCM with a used unit. Faults now logged on rear doors only.
That’s what making me think CCM is faulty.
Found a company called motivelectronics.
I have just sent them a email.
See what comes back.
I also have my original door locks.
Need to get them checked out.

Shoppinit. Just came across technics100 2009 extremely detailed procedure to fix the door locks/micro switches. From when you had a similar problem.
Ps can you remember that far back.
Basically FCUK THAT for a game of dominoes. If it’s not the CCM then I will live with the problem.
All the doors are working perfectly on the remote and the interior door switches.
It’s only when you auto scan that you are aware of the fault.
Could do what you suggested a while back.
Get rid of VCDS cable.

Re: CCM repairs
I have no memory of that whatsoever.
Won’t safe just means the deadlock microswitches aren’t working, or that the inputs on the CCM are burned out. That can happen.
If the doors are locking and the interior lights are working when the door opens then I’d just live with the occasional fault code.

Re: CCM repairs
Here you go Ben.
Great write up by Technic100
Will do some checks with VCDS
BUT I reckon I will live with it.
Re: CCM repairs
There's a company called ECU Testing in Derbyshire. They're supposed to be quite good. They rebuild all sorts of modules and things.

Someone else with a similar issue and in 2008! The sensor is in the door lock mechanism. Only rear doors affected. Does VCDS chuck up a code when you open and close a rear door while it's plugged in?

Re: CCM repairs
My theory is that the timing windows in the CCM are too tight which means that the slightest variation in locking / deadlocking speed causes a sporadic DTC.
You can eliminate a frank microswitch / IO failure using VCDS to test the locks individually. If they all work but you are still getting dtcs then that wioild tend to reinforce that theory.

Re: CCM repairs
Thanks Suz and Ben.
Will do some more tests with VCDS.
Sent ecutesting.com in Derby a email. Just heard from them. They don’t do our CCM,s as yet.
motivelectronics got back to me. They don’t do either.
