I didn't think this would ever happen...

Post by srichards » Sat Nov 16, 2024 12:44 pm

I have decided to sell my lovely RS6. It's on with Iconic.

https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/2004- ... 556&pp=100

I'm still on the fence whether I want it to sell or not. It should be with someone that looks after it like I do but actually takes it out. It spends too much time parked up in the garage on its own.

Last time it went to a destination was Radwood 2023. It mostly gets bimbled around for an hour a few times a year when I remember or goes to the specialist for a service and MOT. I think they've used it more than me this year. I intended to take it to Rustival but somehow failed to manage it. I've not used it at all during salt season for the past few years and sadly not much in the not salt season.

I've not put anything in the classifieds as it's being sold elsewhere.

If you decide to sell Suz. Then GLWS. She looks like a very nice cared for example.
Best wishes.

Fingers are crossed equally for both outcomes still!

Good luck with the sale, hope it finds a good home. If it doesn't sell, I'll buy the wing off you :thumb:

It's sold. Someone got a billy bargain considering what you get for the money. Probably why I always had difficulty thinking what to get next as there's just nothing that's all this for the money.

Better to have loved it and sold it than to never have had one at all.

Yeah, and it's better than losing it some other, more traumatic way.

Saw the car today on YouTube. Was on Jonny Smiths "Late brake show" He did a presale review of the auction. Didn't speak about it unfortunately, only there in the background.

Christ I go nuts when it’s in the garage for a few days. Nothing else compares IMO.

I saw that. Kept waiting for him to mention it. He was stood right next to it talking about the Golf. I wonder if him and Mr Porter have secretly bought it?

It's definitely a rarity in performance and value. Not being £700 tax helps a lot as well. £400 odd isn't great but it's not horrific.
There is only the later RS6 but they're all estates and I've never really been that keen on estates. Plus £700 VED which I'm just never going to pay for any car no matter what it is.
