I had this in my Allroad, I'll bet it's the trim at the bottom of the windscreen is slightly detached and then any water that runs down the screen on the LHS runs straight into the pollen filter. I scoured a scrapyard and found a Passat pollen filter cover which fits perfectly over the pollen filter and moves any water away from the filter and down the drain holes. If not you could fashion a temporary cover and get a hose on the windscreen to check where the rain is running, I bet it's into the filter. Good luck.

I'm picking up my first RS6 in a couple of weeks so can't introduce myself yet!

Hi. Thank you for your feedback.
The windscreen and water deflector are not that old so I don’t think that’s my problem. The newish water deflector has a lip that goes up and behind the windscreen.

Since learning that the scuttle drain and a/c drain share the same drain pipe.
I am guessing that a blocked ac drain would result in a build up of water spilling into the pollen filter housing. Then overflowing into the footwells.
The scuttle was dry as was the actual pollen filter.

As I say I am best guessing at the moment.

I am interested in your Passat filter cover.
Model year etc.

I have just seen this exact thing happen to mine after the windscreen was replaced. FFS. What a stupid design.

Oh no Ben. I can feel for you. Every time I ordered a new water deflector it arrived broken. They are so fragile.
I think I had three delivered. Even the one I accepted had a bit broken on it.

I have just had the car valeted. Initial power wash to remove debris before shampooing.

Got the car home and had a really good feel around. Cannot feel any wet.
It’s giving me a bit more confidence that the problem was with the a/c drain pipe.

Will keep a close eye on it. But I am happy for now.

After A good wash. Followed it up with a good waxing.
Keeping all of my fingers crossed that it was the a/c drain.

Worth it to stop the buggers eating the car and causing massive damage. I've already spent hours trying to get to those wires.

She does scrub up nice. Perfect day for applying a good wax.
So pleased I bought those alloys.
Will have to do another scan to see if I still have the door lock issues. Won’t safe won’t de safe.

Sometime soon.
Professional valet, paint correction, then Ceramic coating

Hi Ben. Yes mate I really love them.
So pleased I followed your recommendation on the choice of colour for the Powder Coating.
They will soon require some new rubber. They are coming up to 3 years old. Covered appropriately 24K miles.
