3 Aliexpress F125 specials on the way. That should keep me going for a while.
Next time I'm going to cut the fin off the gearbox mount so that F125 can come off without faffing around. I'll fabricate a heatshield to protect the F125 in the absence of the fin. By happy coincidence a heatshield just fell off the Passat so I've got some material I can use.

Still no progress on the windscreen though. Carglass has been promising to call me when it comes in for the last week or so. Sigh.

Shop. Seeing as you are now such an expert I reckon you should do mine for me , When it eventually packs in.

On the windscreen. I got a genuine one from Audi. Capt ric got one from pilkintons.
If I remember correctly the 4 Audi rings on my screen cost me £100 per ring in comparison to what Ric paid.

There is a thread on here somewhere.

Did it come from Audi Tradition do you know? Didn't you have a problem with fitment?

Yes Shop I did have a problem. No it wasn’t from Audi Tradition.
My car was in the body Shop for some work.
For a good repair and new paint the screens had to come out.
The body Shop arranged for the new screens and fitter.
The window fitter installed the new screens. I had a 1 inch gap at each end. Which I now know was caused by the wrong size screen being fitted.
The new rear screen exploded when I put the screen heater on.
I then bought a genuine screen from Audi and used their recommended installer. Still on now and a great fit.
I reinstalled the original rear screen and all ok.

Capt ric got the same screen (pilkingtons) with the same part number etched on the screen approx £400 cheaper than mine.
Mine had the 4 Audi rings etched on the screen Ric,s didn’t Hence my comment each ring cost me £100.

Where was the inch gap? I bet the standard A6 screens are a different size to the V8 A6 chassis screens. I'll measure mine before it gets fitted.

Yes mate. Bottom of windscreen at each end.
There is a lot of photos on here.
You need the pilkingtons part number that was on mine and rics screen.
I will try to find that thread. It shouldn’t be too difficult.

This is the result of fitting the wrong size screen.

Just hope they got the correct screen and they for it properly.

You can breathe a sigh of relief when the rain deflector goes on and you have no gaps each end.

No gap between the screen and the dashboard

The windscreen wiper boss is not fouling the hole in the water deflector.
