@noidea01 sorry forgot to say, its a 2014 B8.5. The discs were already on the car when I bought it.
Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
They are not B8.5 brakes that’s for sure
Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
@Bobminda apart from not being the wavy discs, how would I know what these are from? I have no invoice in the paperwork to say what were fitted!!
Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
Mine is a 2015 model and I recently replaced the brake pad wear sensor on the offside, and I only have two brake pads per caliper, although mine are ceramics....Rs4nutter wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 3:38 pmAfternoon all
Having read through these posts about discs/pads etc it sounds like a personnal prefernce to all. My front discs aren't the wavy ones, think Zimmerman but cant be sure. Question is, is there a massive difference between the two brands? Also with the Reyland discs, how do they fit with the dust sheilds on?
But, have also read in this thread that the front caliper has 4 pads per caliper?!! Is this correct? Only checked mine the other week as put a ceramic coating on wheels, 2 pads per caliper!! Which is correct?
Many thanks

Hard to know - someone on here should help - the Caliper is completely different as well as the disc
Maybe do a measurement on the discs and that should narrow it down

Been looking for front discs - ECR brakes have a wavy design on eBay at the moment for £500 a pair. Anyone had any experience of using them - any good??
Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
No sorry - but mine need doing and for a little extra I’ll be going for the Reyland kit - bigger discs (380 over 365 ) and original calipers - that way next time you or new owner will just need to change the rotorskillysprint wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 9:45 pmBeen looking for front discs - ECR brakes have a wavy design on eBay at the moment for £500 a pair. Have changed username as forgot password, formerly Rs4nutter.
@Bobminda Did a search online with the part number on disc, it came up with parts from a B9!! Car is going in for a service on Friday so will ask why these are fitted. Had someone else check and came up with the same result.
Disc's fitted are 375mm in diameter and have 2 pads per caliper.
Anybody got thoughts as why?

So, had a major service done, to put mind at rest, previous garage didn't do it before I collected at 40k miles, now just short of 56k miles. Service advisor said one of the final drive oils had never been touched!! Oil came out like treacle!!
Anyway, enquired about the discs/calipers I have fitted, and said these were genuine items from factory!! He gave me a print out of part numbers and still comes up with the wavy discs!!
Gonna get quotes for a better set of front discs/pads, wait till warning light comes on

I am reasonably happy that they are B9 discs and calipers.

@noidea01 thanks for reply.
Any idea as to why they are fitted on a b8? Was there a crossover period? I have looked through all paperwork I have, and found nothing as to why these bigger discs were fitted!!
Guess the b9 are a straight fit?

My only guess would be a previous owner fitted them for some reason. There was no crossover, it wouldn't have come from the factory with them fitted.

My guess would be you had the optional Ceramic brakes fitted from Factory and somebody didn't want to fork out for replacing them! It was probably cheaper to get a second hand used set of Calipers and Discs from a B9 than replacing the Ceramics.

@bmostert got my nephew to order me some EBC 2 piece floating disc's, 380mm, and EBC yellowstuff pads. Just need to collect them and fit, bought B8 disc's and B9 pads due to the different caliper fitted.
Fingers crossed they fit!!
Aren't the ceramic options even bigger than standard disc's?
