RSPages??

Post by Nige_RS4 » Wed Feb 15, 2006 2:48 pm

How about an area that RS246 users can add details of suppliers, tuners etc.. and what services they offer? Combine this with a feedback/review/rating system to help provide more information.

I realise this has the potential to be abused by the few, but for the rest of us, it could serve as a useful tool.

I mean how many times have we had to point ppl in the direction of vagparts, MRC etc...

Just a thought.

Starts to get political when you have sponsors such as we do, and although a good idea, I personally dont think it would be workable.. seems to work reasonably well as is, post a question and I am sure you will get good and bad responses from all.

Yes, but that's the problem - the same questions are being asked all the time, mainly because the search engine sucks :bash: maybe you need to link to the advanced search engine straight away and cut out a lot of the cr@p on that page - maybe use the AW site as an example of a better solution.

I think Nige's idea is a good one. I like to hear the good and the bad about a particular outfit. We are all reasonably intelligent to figure out the balance of opinion.

You would be amazed at the expectations some people have of this site.

True, it is a good idea but most tuners do not post here i.e. there will not be a balanced view.

Where people have issues with suppliers, they should resolve them directly with said supplier or by resorting to legal action if necessary and not by posting on a web forum.

rs246 does not want a forum dedicated to discussing the merits or otherwise of the suppliers.

David, my idea was to have a list of suppliers i.e where to get the best deal on aftermarket wheel, cheapest tyres etc... and not a bitching section, just basic details like company name, phone number and what they sell and how much you paid for it. The links section is good, but it doesn't state what wares are sols and more importantly, at what price ..... and I imagine it's not used much, cos of where it is on the LH menu.

If the business is important enough to them, then we would happily welcome Site Sponsors. Otherwise any additional 'nice to have' is an overhead which we do not have time to maintain. Sorry, but for the forseeable future the site functionality is frozen.
