Top mount 8D0 412 383 E

Post by Foxmeister » Thu Feb 22, 2024 4:40 pm

Are these a common replacement item? Been told I need both replaced whilst in getting springs done, but looks like they are metal frame, don’t see any wear items?

Typically they are also NLA so finding any looks like a mission, anybody know where to get some? Always yank sites that appear on a search and they don’t seem to stick either

Had all my top mounts replaced when I had the bilsteins installed. Grizz purchased them on my behalf.
But I think i saw them for sale at Audi Tradition.

Are you sure it’s the bracket you want 8DO 412 383 E.
Or do you require the rubber bush.

Unfortunately it’s these Steve, update from garage was a bolt snapped on the first one they were trying to remove 🙄 not sure if somebody has had heat on them previously so it’s not due to wear at least

They are murder to track down, not even limited to RS6 they were used on loads of A4, Passat, B5 RS4 etc, but seem to only be rough 2nd hand available from a search so far, will have to keep scouring and see if any breakers pop up etc

Are there any after market ones instead? I'd think KW or Bilstein might do them if originals are now NLA.

Get a couple from Rockauto:

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.ph ... 00&jsn=381

Make sure you use Fedex or DHL for shipping so you get up front customs costs.

Actually, if you're not in the UK there are a couple of options on ebay.com. I'd much rather use Rockauto though.

They have a rubber bush bonded inside. And yes, they can need replacing. Best to do it when changing the shocks.

Nice find Shop, have you used Rockauto before, trusted seller? Do I have to arrange the shipping or can you select from a list when purchasing?

I’m UK based, just strange why they’re so hard to find here

The standard strut top bushes are available from SKF etc, but these top brackets don’t seem to be, very thin on the ground

Yeah, I've used Rockauto a few times for some fairly pricey bits (eg. cats, AC compressor, alternator). I haven't had any issues. They are a well known supplier.

Shipping is easy. Just put your shipping address in and choose your shipper and it'll work out the cost including all imports fees and a few days later it turns up. Couldn't really be easier (as long as you choose Fedex or DHL).

Audi tradition have got them, too, but they won't supply to the UK. Another Brexit benefit.

Yeah. Steve's used them a few times, I believe. I imagine they add their markup.

Yes suz deutche parts are really good. Sure they will add a markup. But it’s well worth it.
They take care of import duties delivery etc.
If nothing else get a price off them.
01531 640800.
Tell them the part number and company where you can get them (Audi Tradition).
Ps. They deal with AT all the time.
