btw. Did you check your Driver's side / off side Aux Radiator whilst performing your overhaul..?

mines at 77k - so relatively low, but just slightly higher mileage than yours .. and this is the condition of it:

Want to keep OEM, as opposed to installing a CAI for example - but replacement Aux. Rad from Audi is .. £254.50+vat !

Well.. I'm working through a Full overhaul / replacement of mostly everything.. will briefly try and break it down:

1. Completed Installation of KW V1's front and rear to replace leaky DRC setup.
2. new Front & Rear Discs and Pads all round - yet to decide.. Reylands ?
3. Front + Rear Anti Roll Bar Bushes
4. Need to purchase HEL Braided Hoses Front & Rear
5. Replacement of ALL fluids: Engine oil, Gearbox and Diff oils, coolant, power steering and brake fluids
6. Sump replacement, due to corrosion. Would have done anyway, as perfect opportunity to inspect Oil Pickup pipe gauze for any blockages
7. Full Carbon Clean inc. PCV valve replacement, vacuum valves, oil filter housing seals
8. New Rocker / Valve cover seals x2
9. Deliberating on 8x new OE / Hitachi Fuel Injectors (expensive!)
10. Oil Filter, Fuel Filter etc.
11. New Bonnet latch
12. New Fuel Flap cap release actuator latch

Suffice to say.

Looks like I might need to re-mortgage the house.

New Secondary Air pump arrived from KMotorshop in Czechia.

Fast delivery, £100 cheaper than any other source. Great for Pierburg OEM parts.

For reference, a new good pump motor measures 2.3 ohms. Old was was open circuit.

Access to and removing the sump (which is quite rusty) is a bit of a ball ache..

Firstly, as you have to remove the Coolant supply hardline pipe [079121481R] from the water pump to the engine block.. and I managed to strip one of the torx bolts in the process

Don't worry. Managed to partially drill out and remove the bolt .. thankfully without damaging the threads on the block..

-Would you know the torque valves for these Torx Bolts please?

Can you get parts from TPS?

Used to fairly frequently. Moved address , so now have to setup an Account with a different TPS Branch ..when i get around to it.

Have managed to get some provisional prices off them over the phone though, so at least I got a rough idea whether I need to sell some of my body-parts beforehand:

079 103 602 BH - RS4 Oil Sump £309.59 +vat
079 103 464 F - PCV / Oil separator crankcase breather £163.88 +vat
079 906 036 AB - OE RS4 Fuel Injectors x8 £149+vat EACH! [made by HTC / Hitachi Corp. for Audi]
8E0 121 212 H - Auxiliary Radiators x1 £255+vat [audi price, need to check with TPS]
079 121 011 Q - Coolant Water Pump With Thermostat housing £235.81 +vat [may leave this , as no leaks for now]

Have already purchased some other genuine parts from Autodoc also.. as considerably cheaper. .. and will also look at kmotoshop

Have yet to think about or purchase Front & Rear Discs and Pads..

As with the KW v1's and FORGE cooler.. I'm already sunk few grand+ into it.. and only into several weeks of ownership.

Plan is to keep long-term.. so believe it's best to invest in these jobs in one go where needed and whilst currently SORN'd.

Despite my various best efforts, the stupid Torx bolt for the Bracket for the Belt Tensioning Damper continued to be a ***** / impossible to remove ..

so now have the envious task of carefully tapping the hole with the remnants of bolt still stuck in the upper sump

You can also see why a new sump is required, and there are some even worse spots - So, please check your Sumps !

I can vouch for Reyland discs. I opted for the uprated 380mm front 360mm rear floating options which are a massive upgrade over standard. Coupled with DS2500 pads front and rear, they give immense bite and stopping power, something I always felt the OEM setup lacked.

I also coupled these with HEL braided lines from Kamracing, who were the cheapest supplier at the time (couple months back).

I have to ask - did you buy the car for a good price, knowing most of the big jobs you've listed above needed addressing, or did you just get unlucky?

Yes, have heard good things about Reyland discs - but apparently they do not recommend the use of Ferodo pads citing bedding and uneven pad build up issues ..

weighing it all up .. ultimately depends how aggressive setup you want I suppose.. there are always some trade-off's ..

some owners have been perfectly happy with the OE braking setup.. a good friend just installed brand new Brembo's in his b7 RS [oe discs and pads] up front and I can tell you personally - it stops just fine!

anyway, no didn't get unlucky with purchase.. as you've probably gathered I'm 'fairly' competent with an adjustable

Knew the discs and pads were due.. so factored in the cost of the KW's and the Forge unit - price wasn't particularly cheap, but then again neither expensive .. as I was looking for a particular spec and this one pretty much ticked all the boxes..

As planning to keep long-term wanted to do the Carbon Clean from the outset at the very least .. and you know.. the list of jobs just expands a little here and there..

What are your plans for Carbon Cleaning?

Ive just ordered my walnut shells..... If you have a compressor and a bagless hoover, its a cheap job to diy.

With my rad fan out, its also dead easy to turn engine over. Plan to use a home made pulley tool from the old aux belt to grip on pulley and turn over.
