Cheers Felix much appreciated.
Now to get one. Typical just replaced 8 oil pipes and hoses. This wasn’t one of them.

No problem, typical that it wasnt the one you replaced.

This is the site I use for looking up part numbers...

Did you get the pip replaced/fixed? Surely if it is leaking from the flat part, it just needs to be made flat again and it will seal properly, no need for the expense of a new pipe?

Hi felix. The pipe has had new seals and gaskets three times.
The last time it was dressed up flat with a file. No oil leak for four days.
Then leak returned. So back in the garage tomorrow.

Todays update after garage visit.
Yet again the oil leak is coming from the left turbo oil drain pipe. Back in garage on Tuesday for a fix.
Fingers crossed.
Was wondering if milling a o ring groove on the flange.
Thus using a o ring as the seal instead of the crush gasket.
Will try a simple fix first. If that doesn’t work then new pipe or mod the old one.
The old pipe has been pressure tested and smoke tested.
All good.
So leak must be coming from the pipe flange or mating face on the turbo.

Strange they cant get it to seal. I would have thought its unlikely there is damage on the turbo sealing face. Unless they are using crap quality seals or not torquing the bolts up correctly.

Hi Felix. We are going to try a sealant in combination with the crush gasket. Leave it at the garage for 24 hours to let the sealant cure.
Fingers crossed.
Ps the mechanic said that he would very much doubt if it was the face on the turbo.

Todays update. Tap on picture to get it the right way up.
I didn’t use the car much at the weekend so it was very dry around the leak area for the turbo drain pipe.

It now looks like the turbo drain pipe is not the culprit after all.

It now appears to be coming from the drive shaft coupling inner seal. After the protective cover was removed it was wet at the side and bottom of the coupling flange.
The turbo lower drain pipe (which is pictured above the drive shaft coupling) was bone dry.

Hopefully a new seal on Friday will cure this annoying leak. Time will tell.

What a pain. At least you’ve narrowed it down!

Hi Ben. Yes maté hopefully we have found the culprit.
Thankfully the costs for the turbo drain pipe work and drive shaft seal replacement has been minimal.

It made it a bit easier to determine the suspected fault by not using the car.

I guess the leak from the spinning drive shaft just happened to land on the underside of the drain pipe flange.
Giving the impression it was the pipe leaking.

Fingers crossed mate. This has been a real pain.

Garage for Friday deferred.
After reading nobby,s excellent how to in the faq section. It became apparent that additional parts are required and not just the seal.
Obviously they are NLA.
Trying to get them from Germany at the moment.
Update to follow.

I forgot nobby did that DIY. Looks fairly straightforward. What's NLA that you need?
