Vagcom
Finally my Vagcom unlimited genuine cable has re surfaced.
Yeah please don’t ask.
As you know I bought a new one from Ross tech a few months ago to replace the missing cable. So I now have a spare one.
Anyone interested at a fair price.
Also found my K commander cable which sweegie used to remotely program my spare instrument cluster. So I could use the car while my original cluster was away for a new screen. There was a few pixels missing so I had the screen replaced.

Re: Vagcom
She has just been spring cleaning the garage.
A large box full of old scart leads, Airiel cables and a load of computer connecting cables.
I was asked to go through them and dispose of any cables that were not needed.
Apparently I must of put them in there by mistake and forgot that I had put them in there. !
How stupid of me to forget.
No worries. Only cost £500 to replace the cable. !!!!!!!!!!

Re: Vagcom
A potential buyer offered me the asking price for the cable.
I contacted Ross tech. I asked if there was any fees applicable to a new owner to register the cable.
Yes was the answer for the amount of 99 dollars.
When I bought the cable from a forum member about 3 years ago. I registered the cable and didn’t have to pay any fees for registration.
Anyone come across this

Re: Vagcom
That doesn't fill me with confidence ! ... they were bang on to deal with prior to purchase, as I had some questions which were promptly answered. but then again, £400 was heading their way

Re: Vagcom
Meant to ask, other than fault finding/correction did you code anything on the car, been watching some vids on YT. I feel that I can use it for more than I do.. any tips would be handy.

Re: Vagcom
Thanks for the info guys.
I informed the potential buyer that there is a transfer fee involved. He has decided to purchase a new cable from Ross tech.

Re: Vagcom
Stuart. Keep watching the YT videos.
I did the same.
Loads you can do with the cable besides autoscan.
I am still a novice with it and learning all the time.
But it has more than paid for itself since I started with it two years ago.

Cheers, Steve.... Charles (Humble Mechanic) has a few excellent clips, he rattles through them pretty quickly tho, it's hard to keep up with himsteve2003rs6 wrote:Stuart. Keep watching the YT videos.
