If you purchase the crank breather £185 it comes with the new seals which are the parts Audi say are on back order🤷‍♂️ The actual oil strainer up grade which is the part that failed is available. I’ve just ordered mine coming Wednesday 😁 On a plus side if your car needs an oil service you’ll get it done for free under the recall as the oil and filter needs to be replaced to complete the recall
Hello, are you telling that they can change oil strainer by servicing car for an oil change? Thanks
No what I’m saying is, If you need an oil service it would in effect be free as they need to change the oil when they do the oil strainer recall. At the moment it seems to be a “Grey area” as the recall is suspended pending parts availability which to most dealers means they are not sure-if it will be covered if owners like me go ahead, buy the crank breather unit and have it done to avoid the turbos failing. Typical massive company who don’t give a fu#k about customers

Mine reckon a day (Audi West London).

I can guarantee it won’t be ready in a day after seeing the pictures of half the engine needing to come out!

It could be a day unless you have NV and Adaptive cruise as they need to be recalibrated I would think minimum two days if you’re lucky

I’ve just read that letter absolute bollocks they used cheap <beep> plastic strainers to save 2p which break up causing parts of the strainer to go into the turbo typical Audi bollocks thinking we are all stupid ffs

Just a quick follow up on my car. Audi UK have confirmed a recall but apparantley it doesn't cover my car. It only applies to a handful of RS6 & RS7 with the oil strainers made by a certain manufacturer, which doesnt make sense. So now after a week of diagnostics Audi have requested the spark plugs be changed as they were due so no issue there, but they are no stating it could be the fuel injectors. What are the chances of 4 fuel injectors all failing at the same time? Problem being its an engine out job to change them so thats about 4K in labour alone + whatever parts costs.
Looks like I will be massively out of pocket at the end of this.
Unbelieveably I have received the recall letter yesterday, my car has been off the road for 8 weeks now. No idea how Audi are going to do this as they cant just change the parts & get the car going again. I have logged an official complaint with Audi Uk & the ombudsman, so will see what Audi they have to say when they can be bothered to get in touch.
Audi have to the worst I have ever dealt with.

Also received my letter yesterday. Car's re-booked in again on the 27th July for two days.
Let's hope they keep these bookings this time!

Got my letter though. Booked it in late July. Audi want the car for 3 days. No cost to me. No mention of trying to charge me for the oil change etc.

Got my letter and booked for 1st week in August because I need the car before then. 1 day required and no mention of any costs or other issues but they did mention that there had previously been concerns over parts availability and the receiving of the letter from Audi didn't necessarily mean this was now sorted!

Hi all,

Got my letter on Tuesday and got a booking for tomorrow (Friday 14/07). Do Audi check for any Turbo issues such as float on the compressor turbine? If not, after the recall work my turbo(s) should fail, Audi could argue the damage was caused after the recall work was applied!

Kenny.

Had mine completed Thur/Fri of last week at Shrewsbury Audi, said it was a big job but all done including oil and filters free of charge except for recalibration of the 360' cameras which apparently needs a special tool that they did not have yet, had the loan of a new A4 for the day also. The service manager said he would gladly come out and fetch my car in and deliver it back to which i politely declined! So need to take it back for a few hours or they will not get paid by Audi apparently

Also got my letter and booked in with Bath Audi for 27th July. It'll take two days (ACC calibration and cameras). They did say it needed an MMI software upgrade but that might be procedure? The oil change has just become due too, so happy days. Couldn't have been timed better  :kissmyrings:
