Vacuum units

Post by Chinny » Thu Jan 27, 2022 1:39 pm

Hi after some guidance. My rs4 was in for a service at my local Audi dealer and a check on another fault. EML/EPC light on. A list of what they said below and brace yourselves for the price quoted

Anyone had this fault and know of a solution? All the after market stuff was put on the car before my ownership.

You need to take it to a proper VAG specialist. Where are you based? That price simply means they don't want the work.
It could be a simple solenoid fault or a vacuum component under the manifold. Not mega money.

I’m in Slough and have booked it in with a company called VRT to have look into it in a couple of weeks. They did my AUX rads last month

Thought I’d post an update on what’s been going on with the EML fault. So after a good few hours checking all the vacuum hoses all was good there. Nothing mechanically wrong so then it came done to wiring and that was all fine. After some more investigating they found that the ecu was not sending the signal to the inlet manifold controls. They got an other ecu from a donor car and all worked fine. Looks like it’s a new ecu for me

would have been an intresting scenario should you have gone with the manifold exchange...

could you not have just had them mapped out?

Looks like that’s the route I’ll be taking. Deflap, carbon clean and a remap. Just waiting on price form my garage Image
