On the plus side, my Shell shares are doing nicely. ;) Thanks all.

Vpower today. Still at 164.9 per litre.
Holy crap, that’s crazy. I’ve not been to a petrol station for around 2 months what with the RS being off the run and having the electric van. Are we expecting prices to come down?

IMO no, because demand is high. Petroleum products (LPG etc.) are being used more as gas prices rocket.

Momentum 156.9
Vpower 164.9
Today on the east coast.
On the plus side. Fish chips and peas is still a reasonable price in a restaurant.

Some doofus seems to have let a load of oil leak off the North Wales coast as well. When it's this expensive you'd think they'd look after it better!

£120 to fill up with Momentum this week ! Going from £75 when I first got the car 3 or 4 years ago, that's a massive jump !

Well, at least food, gas, electricity and every other single thing isn't going up. Oh wait...

This is a controversial opinion but, although file prices are high, I really don’t see them as terrible. I mean back in 1998, when I started driving, I’m sure it was 69p per litre, now we’re looking at £1.42. In 24 years it’s doubled but is that really bad? I don’t think so.
House prices have quadrupled, food price around the same, utilities probably 8x higher. The list goes on. 🤷‍♂️
Now take into account wages. Ok I was a 17 year old boy on £20 week YTS but I remember £20k a year being considered a good wage for 40hrs a week unskilled. What’s a good wage now, £35k?
I’d also argue is fuel a luxury item? So we drive our cars to work. Could we not look for employment locally? If you take off the cost of owning, maintaining and fuelling the bloody thing you may find that the bigger pay packet we’re chasing further afield might be found working locally, especially if you spent those extra hours you’ve found yourself with not sitting in traffic actually earning at your new place of employment.
Obviously my opinion won’t conform to everyone’s situation but I’m sure it would work for many that complain about fuel prices.

Problem is that salaries haven't remotely kept up with house prices. In fact, they haven't even kept up with the cost of living since 2008. Not looking like it'll get better any time soon.

That cannot have been a full tank, you must have had at least a quarter tank left.
