Navigation Upgrade???

Post by SteveH » Sat Feb 04, 2006 10:51 am

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the Navigation Plus head unit to the DVD based version which i think is called "RNS-E"?

Has anyone done this? If so, any idea of price? is it just a change of head unit or are wiring modifications required? and was it worth changing in the end?

Also, i hear of TV systems being modified so that it does not black out the screen when you are on the move... How do you do this to the Navigation Plus? and is it also possible to adapt the RNS Unit??

Cheers, Steve

Send Craigyb a pm

I had my RS6 done from him 2 weeks ago and took my friens's RS4 to him last Sunday and had that one done also. Make sure you go for the "full monty" version; i.e. RNS-E, TV, TV in Motion, BT Phone-Prep via Bluetooth and not forgetting one of Craig's Media Players.

It will transform your car and take it to another league.

There are several posts about this - I suggest you try searching for 'RNS-E'. I upgraded my RS6 about 9 months ago. The total cost - RNS-E and newer version of TV tuner from ebay, plus wiring adapters from Kufatec was about £900. I managed to sell my old Nav+ and TV tuner for £575, although I suspect that you would have great difficulty achieving those prices now.
