I used to avoid both BP and Esso as only Shell and Tesco were 99. Haven't been to either BP or Esso in ages so wouldn't know if they've upped the level.
SWMBO filled up with Momentum today on a shopping trip to Tesco and reported that it was now 10p per litre more than 95/E10 and did vaguely wonder if it was worth it. :bash:
I've never noticed any difference between V-power and Momentum - apart from the price...…….

I think V-Power is meant to have more cleaning properties in the fuel and is better for N/A cars that are prone to clogging up. Again though, not sure if things have changed over the years, I'm talking 10 years or more that was talked about.

So far so good. Haven’t really noticed any difference between the momentum and the vpower.

Vpower 157.9 today. That’s a hell of a hike from 140.9 a few months ago.

I guess EV drivers are going to feel the pain soon, too. My electricity and gas has gone up 80% since my supplier went bust. It's more expensive than some might think to charge an EV. Even my Passat will pull 10A for 5 hours. That's £2.30 at current rates for about 25 miles. Given it does about 50mpg, that's the equivalent of 2.2 litres, so about £3.10. Not a massive difference.

/and that's assuming you charge at home. If you use a commercial charger I bet it's no cheaper than petrol in some cases.

//of course it's not just about the price.

80% - that's insane....
Really hope these wholesale prices drop back down sooner rather than later or we'll be in a world of poop!
Just checked and my fixed with BG finishes at the end of Jan.

Charging losses on slow chargers are quite bad. I'm 3 miles per kWh which is roughly 6p a mile or so with energy costs and allowance for some losses. Not bad. I have free supercharging so that's even cheaper...

I looked at new fixed rates a few weeks ago and they were horrific. Variable capped rate is better at the moment.

I switched from Avro this year and went to Octopus as Avro were considered iffy then. Glad I did.

That's what I should have done but I wasn't inspired by the silly name.

Now I'm with Octopus anyway. Until they too go bust now that CNG has pulled out of the wholesale market dropping all their customers in the poopy, hedging or no hedging. Mind you with a $600M cash injection from Al Gore, they might be alright for a while.

They're all going to be in the poo. I'd imagine there will be a massive quiet government bail out for the few that remain standing that have actually done the right things.

Seriously no plans for e85 in the UK? Just filled up the thirsty beast an hour ago : 49€ for 77 liters (0.63€ /L). I wonder how many countries have adopted it (I guess Google would tell if I ask)...

I just put £50 of premium Esso at £1.55 a litre and the car was just over a quarter full and said I had 120 miles - Jesus is that right??

It was running on fumes..

Ha ha. Welcome to the club.
Just filled mine to the top. Says 350 mile range.
If you floor it the mpg indicator will say somewhere around 6 miles to the gallon.
But the feeling is well worth it.

I'm lucky to get 200 miles a tank out of the manual,I thought manuals were supposed to be better on fuel :)
