Wrapping the RS
Re: Wrapping the RS
Just out of interest, what would the costing be for a full wrap ? Something I have never really looked in to, but have often thought about.

I remember that, nice thing, Riviera Blue i think
Re: Wrapping the RS
There are so many things to take into account when pricing a job. Most of it can come down to labour preparing the car, panel condition and how much stripping down is required. Details such as shuts also throw the price up. And of course your price per meter of vinyl can be very different.
For a full wrap on my RS you can expect to pay the same amount as a full respray, around £3.5k. About £1200 of that will be materials the rest labour. There are pros and cons to either finish.
@Matt, you have pm.

Yes, great post. Thanks for sharing.
Re: Wrapping the RS

Yeah, pretty sure you're right about it being Riviera. Paint condition was pretty poor though.

Re: Wrapping the RS
Have you considered ppf'ing it (or part of it)? Doesn't degrade from the stunning red finish but would showcase your skills as a wrapper and might trigger some upsell opportunities to customers wanting to give their pride and joy more protection after you've worked your magic on the bodywork.
You'll know your client base best of of course but I wonder if a clear wrap for protection might generate as much, if not more interest initially than coloured wraps.

I do PPF but my paint is far from PPF worthy. When I go for a full respray, which will be in the standard misano red, I will obviously lay down a full PPF cover.
Re: Wrapping the RS
So I’ve narrowed the search down to two colours with three styles and I’m interested to know what you all think.
1, Gloss Liquid Copper with Carbon Fiber roof
2, Gloss Fiery Orange with Carbon Fiber roof
3, Either of those colour including the roof
I’ve attached picture of the colours under artificial light and in the shade.

Re: Wrapping the RS
Not sure I would choose any of those myself. A little Garish for my tastes. A little to Jap like ? Supra ? Civic ?
But I guess everyone is different.
If I had to choose from those, I would tend to lean towards the Orange, as opposed to the Copper.
Looking forward to seeing it all done, perhaps it may look far better than the vision I have in my head

#1 has my vote. Are you going to do anything to the aluminum trim?

Re: Wrapping the RS
I looked at a full self healing PPF wrap a while ago.
Quoted £3.5 k
Haven’t proceeded any further.
I wanted to go ahead
Wife wanted Upvc work on the house
Guess who won ?

That makes a change in fairness.steve2003rs6 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 12:24 pmI looked at a full self healing PPF wrap a while ago.

£3.5k is around the mark I would estimate. A fair amount of that goes into the prep. Once I’ve wrapped mine I’ll have a much better idea of how long it will take. Maybe we can sort something out. I’ll message you later.

“Hand crafted personalised jewellery” sound ok? I’ll just pick up something cheap from H Samuel and put it in a fancy box for her.steve2003rs6 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 5:45 pmSounds good to me Chris.
