Movit disc replacement

Post by SimonS4MTM » Tue Jan 24, 2006 2:45 pm

Will need some new discs soon and was thinking of getting some plain (not drilled) discs. Getting fed up with rusting problems this time of year.

Does anyone know what Porsche these discs are from, so that i can see if standard discs are available.

Not sure the Porsche item is the same Simon. Many people have told me the Movit one is slightly different to the 993TT item. Never compared them so I cannot say.

I spoke with Kim a while back and their replacement movit disc comes with the bell, all balanced up ready to go. It is an exchange price. The bells do not last forever anyway.

Hope that helps.

I bought my RS-6 Avant and drove it direct to Movit. Installed drilled rotors front and rear plus new calipers and stainless lines. The mod turned the RS-6 into a different car. Wear has been minimal and no cracks. If you drive often rust is no problem. When I wash the car, I either do a short drive or blow out all the water with air hose.

Guido makes his own rotors, they aren't a Porsche part.

Interesting, would you mind sharing how much they charged you?

I was under the impression that you can reuse the bells just once - Movit North America had an article on this IIRC.
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

Also maybe try having a word with AP Racing - I think they have just introduced a 993TT replacement disc which is grooved.
