OK - think I've found an S4 :)

Post by arS4 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 7:09 pm

Need your advice guys.

Having great difficulty finding an S4, but I've compromised and lowered the price slightly, and I've found a couple of examples.

Both are S plates (98 +99) -
Both have 87K on the clock

Pretty identical really

Both asking £9995.

What do you reckon? They're even offering a good p/ex on the Scooby :D

Any comments, as I'm going to be keeping the car around 3yrs, so it will have circa 120K when I come to flog it.

What would a 10yr old Audi S4 with this sort of mileage be worth? (out of interest!)

Thanks,

Dano

Not a lot and less than £10k. My estimate and IMO I wouldn't bank on getting any more than £5k back....but I may be off the ball.

Sounds like a lot for pre-facelift cars IMO. Is this Audi approved (or whatever) ???

I'm surprised but the prices of our beloved cars have been tumbling over the last year...

However, I would expect them to level off now and begin to hold their value?

But looking at current prices, I would say the above examples could be had for up a grand less.

Avant

I was guessing at about £3.5K, so to hear anything more than that is good!! :D

I'm confused about the facelift aspect - can someone post up a comparison of piccies for me to see, as TBH, I thought the facelift was just the armrest between the front seats!!! :D

Thanks in advance - always helps to talk to those "in the know"!!! :D

Facelift has quite alot of changes inc. trim, back brakes (vented instead of solid), door handles, lights, digital clock, different centre consol, etc..........
I did see a pic of a car somewhere with alot of 'arrows' round it which pointed out the changes. Cant remember where it was though

from what i recall.......
facelift has the reversing lights to the lower half of the rear cluster, oval side repeaters as opposed to square on the older model, one piece headlights and indicators, one piece door handles, concealed windscreen washer jets, pushbuttons in dash are wide rather than tall.
armrest was an option on both. digital clock as opposed to analogue.
mechanically the face lift has rs4 exhaust manifolds which cure the exhaust rattle.
anything i've forgotten?

Thanks guys - anybody got the piccy? That would be REALLY helpful!!!

Clive - I felt the same when my Scooby's price took a tumble. Thankfully (unlike the Impreza), the (R)S4 Avant don't have the chavs and scallys after them - still too pricey.

My thoughts were that for circa £9K, that's a HELL of a lot of car for the money......

both pre facelift. Both have washers in the bonnet and flat door handles
Later handles are '1 piece' instead of the moving handles. Also trim along the side of the car is thicker
