Are Avant and Saloon shocks the same?
Yes.

Rear springs different though. IIRC the front springs are the same.

I spent today removing each brake disc in turn, cleaning the surface rust of, cleaning all the crud out of the cross drillings it and refitting them. Rear pads will need changing soon.

I put my chassis number into the Audi app and found that my cars has the Audi Exclusive Styling Package, the Matt black styling package (Audi Exclusive) and Brushed matt aluminium fascia trim.

Odd. Suspect that the app's definition of "Audi Exclusive" is different from what is what originally where you could spec any colour of paint in the VAG range. It looks like an Avus.

The Audi exclusive program also offered a wider range of leathers.

The de-chroming was a no-cost option IIRC. Standard on the RS6+.

new coil springs are £ 120 each from Audi, so have ordered a pair along with the full timing belt and water pump kit.
Whilst I can have them made at approx £ 50 each, that takes time and I'd prefer to have the car back on its wheels sooner. I will compare the good used spring against the new one and keep it as a pattern as if there is demand and Audi discontinue them then that is an issue.

Found a vgc headlamp control switch and panel on Ebay last night, so ordered that to replace my scratched one.

Taking a gamble on non HUF/Beru 433mhz tyre pressure monitor sensors - at £ 33 per corner vs £ 86 per corner. Part numbers cross reference, so fingers crossed.

Don't forget that you need the tensioner for the timing belt which isn't part of the kit. See the DIY in the FAQ for part numbers.

Will double check, but I think it was on the list.

Edit: yes, I used the list of parts from your cambelt change FAQ

The knob that controls the DIS system next to the handbrake has come off, so I'm about to fire up my 3D printer and to make one of these https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3448201 from black ABS and see if it works.

3D printing done... not perfect but 10 times better than what was there...

I'll probably sand off the Audi rings so its flat and cut a Sticker out on the vinyl cutter if I can find something suitable.

You can get a nice finish if you print in ABS and use an acetone vapour chamber. It'll be just like the soft-touch plastic elsewhere in the car. I wouldn't bother with the embossed rings, though.

Today the aftermarket TPMS' arrived, so Saturday morning will mean borrowing the works van again to take my refurbed wheels, and the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's to the local tyre centre for fitting and balancing.

One of the jobs this weekend will be to give the rear wishbones a good wire brushing and then I’ll brush some Dinitrol RC800 rust converter onto them.

Best thing I ever did to my rears was get them shot blasted and powder coated in satin black. Better than new.
