Audi fail again

Post by kcsun » Wed Jan 25, 2006 9:52 am

Watched "Watchdog" last night on the TT scandal. Apparently all TT's from 2000 - 2004 have dash pod problems and are regularly changed by dealers at upto £800 a throw.
Until the Beeb stepped in most dealers were saying "your're the first one with that problem" sounds like wheels all over again
Now Audi are saying they will replace the units at no cost - surely they will have to stop importing to the UK soon as it costs them more in warranty work than the profit made on the cars!

Had the dashpod go on my TT. Luckily within the warranty period.

One of the guys on the tt-forum has been gathering data for 3 years on this. He has long since moved on from the TT but has kept going and with a little help from Wak recently they got Watchdog interested.

A fantastic result for the tt-forum and it shows how valuable/influential forums can be 8)

You would think they would have learned from the first round when they had to ship 2000 cars back to Gggermany to stick a spoiler and some funky electronics on them...... how much did that cost?

This has been going on for ages. Had mine go in 2001 on my S3, replaced under warranty by dealer who specifically looked for the early signs of this cos it was recognised by them then as a common fault :audibash:
