B7 vert headlights flickering

Hi all

Just bought my vert...loving it...but last night i noticed the lights flickering. Done a search - seems its been ‘seen’ before but are there any recent experiences / advise.

Rung Audi - gas lamp (D1S) is £189...and if i also need the control box, anuva £503...each side!!!!! ‘Bumper off’ seems to be Necessary so a further £213 to fit.

Anyone any alternative bulbs / advice. I dont mind doing the job myself...and i assume i just need the bulbs and NOT the control unit. Apparently, i have biXenons but not with the ‘cornering’ option...is that whats known as Adaptive Headlights???

Had the flickering lights and then a few months later bulb failure, replacing the bulbs did the trick & control units were OK.

Replaced the OEM's with D1S Osram Xenarc nightbreaker, around £70 each from Power Bulbs & much better range than the original bulbs.

Plenty of guidance on here for taking the bumper off & in particular tools to more easily access the bumper bolts and a long reach torx screwdriver to get to one of the screws.

Small hands an advantage & be prepared to lose bits of your knuckles..., good luck!

Adaptive lights are the corning versions. They go up/down then in/out during their initial self test. Can't say it makes much of a difference to be honest.

I had flickering lights years ago as well but new bulbs fixed the problem.

Hahaha. I experienced the Flickering lights on Sunday driving back from Portsmouth. 1st time in my car. On the upside the cars in front kept moving out the way thinking i was flashing them. . Probably just cheap bulbs I guess. Ive got a receipt that says Audi RS4 Cree led bulb. £70 only 1 tho which is weird.
