Dog friendly boot liner for RS6??

Post by Tweaky » Tue Jan 17, 2006 4:02 pm

I am struggling to find a solution to my boot liner problems for my dog. When i bought my car RS6 i bought the dog grille and hard plastic boot liner form Audi at great expense. The liner i have is the one that is rigid plastic and comes up the sides. It also has a 'non-slip mat' which would be fine for static clean objects but it is no good for a stinky smelly mutt. As soon as i go around a corner any faster than a milk float the dog is send scrabbling around in the back of the car...now whilst it is mildly amussing for me...he (the dog) doesn't like it.

How have other people over come this problem....other than get rid of the dog

I used carpet in my other car, but after a while it stank, so am reluctant to use it again cos i like the smell of leather in the car just a touch better

What i think i need is a heavy rubber mat that will fit the liner....something that can be hosed/scrubbed down occasionally. But where to get one?????

Let the dog sit on the back seat :jump: I am sure the dog's claws will get a good grip on the leather and as a bonus leather is washable :thumb:

Hmm i am sure the Great Dane would love to sit on the back seat.....not sure my 3yr old daughter would approve sharing it though....especially when my Weimeraner jumps in as well....

My Labrador will need pinning down when I get my new brum brum!!

Out of interest, is the boot liner expensive?

I paid approx £160 for the dog grille and the rigid liner...the liner was about £60 i think from memory. I have just bought a rubber liner from these people http://www.boot-liner.com/ I fitted it last night and tested it out this morning, and it was really good....it stayed put and the dogs where fine.......i gave the weimeraner the full benefit of RS6 and he took it in his stride.......so i am now going to just have to chip it and throw some extra 'G's at him :P
