I am really bored now and called my dealer today. He confirmed I am definitely first for the Avant but it will be September or October delivery!

I have been offered a new Range Rover Sport 4.2 Supercharged in 3 weeks time. Seriously tempted and may cancel the RS4 order.

Have an S4 Avant so could be a good change. Don't think I can wait for Sept/Oct and as I have 2 children now the RR could be good. A friend of mine has one and it is fantastic.

Ditto,

Think I am in the same position as you, but last I was told was June/July delivery so perhaps it has slipped.

My concern is residual value (don't get me wrong, I expect a hit, but I don't want an RS6 size hit from new). The V8 M3 is getting nearer and it will effect demand for the RS4, no limited numbers on the RS4 is a bad sign. And now a cab looks likely which is further going to dilute the RS brand.

50k buys you alot of car, and other manufacturers offering some tempting stuff.

I think we'll be waiting even longer than that... September at the very earliest for the first Avants. Really put off with taking delivery of a nice new car just as the shitty weather sets in for the forthcoming 8 months... Thinking of posponing delivery of mine til summer 07 or even spring 08 depending what I get in the meantime... Who knows how many they are going to make, and until when?? I'm currently looking at a 6+

Decisions decisions
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Go for a slightly older RS6 and leave the +Plus and you'll spend a lot less.

Getting off-topic now, sorry everyone.

I've today cancelled my saloon as the dealer advised that the avant will now be early summer.

In some way I'm dissapointed but at least that gives me more time to save!

All well said. I'm sitting on my B6 S4 Avant and S4 Cab and waiting for the V8 M3.

Ive got the New M3 V8 on order, have done since Oct 04.
Number 3 on list for Sytner group where i live, so not bad.

Was offered an RS4 for June Delivery, dealer allocated car which may be run as demo, but they will allow me to have it before its run, plus its speccable before i take delivery, April build or so. Was thinking i may not loose too much on the RS4 before the M3 arrives, but now starting to think different, is everyone waiting for the Avant or what? seems to be the case..
On Order: Audi RS5 4.2 V8 Est 450bhp? 08/09?

Bmw 335d Coupe 56/06 & Merc S320 L CDI 56/06

Previous: Audi RS4 B7 06, Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, All the E46's.. Coupe/Cab/Saloon.
